astroboy August 6, 2008 August 6, 2008 Hello. My green start polyps are starting to get out of control. Is there any wisdom on how to control (kill) them? Thanks! Hello. My green start polyps are starting to get out of control. Is there any wisdom on how to control (kill) them? Thanks! I should add that I'm thinking along the lines of -simply trying to cut them out, or, -nuking them with Joe's Juice, neither of which really seem do be doing the job. They're on rocks I can't remove from my tank. I was wondering if anyone had tried something that worked well for them. Thanks!
reefmontalvo August 7, 2008 August 7, 2008 H-E-double hocky sticks I been having a hard time tryn to get mine to grow. What are you doing to have such a problem. In any case I could take some ofthem off yoru hands.

In any case I could take some ofthem off yoru hands. Unfortunately, they're all on rocks I can't remove. The only thing I'm doing is consistently running Ca at 350, KH at 3, temps at 80-81, 360 CF lights on 75 gallons. Also have a mild slime algae problem. So, short story, I'm doing most things wrong, despite my efforts to fix them. I'm going to add a few inches to the deep sand bed and see if that helps.
fishcam August 7, 2008 August 7, 2008 Giving them away could work pretty well Actually a good idea here. You should be able to peel the new growth off and mount it to a plug, or nothing... and give/sell them out!
davjbeas August 7, 2008 August 7, 2008 I use joes juice with all flow off in the tank. This gives it better contact time to hurt the GSP when a few polyps come back treat them again. David

I have had mine grow over the substrate and up into the water column stretching like fingers trying to find the next victim Edited August 8, 2008 by rioreef
quazi August 8, 2008 August 8, 2008 Where do you live. I am sure there are people near you that will show you how to peel the GSP away. Also, PLEASE ADD YOUR LOCATION TO YOUR PROFILE. That way I will not have to ask for your location
