gmubeach January 18, 2008 January 18, 2008 If your going to order from aquatrader you will get a good price, but heres my dilema. I ordered a medal haldine and a refuguim on January 10 2008. They were sent January 11, but in two boxes and I didn't recieve a call saying that one of the boxes had been delayed. Needless to say I picked up my refugium stuff today and guess what only the metal haladine will be here today! January 18 2008 It hasn't arived yet and to make matters worse there was free shipping on the light and I payed 24.99 for shipping on the refugium anyway its just upseting. When I called to check on my order the operator was less then helpful, but anyway I am in problem solving mode now I think I can put the refuguim stuff in my sump of my nano cube and use the light farther back so they get a trickle of light until the stuff arives... All I am saying is it would of nice to have recieved a call.
trble81 January 19, 2008 January 19, 2008 hmmm... This isn't the first time I've seen something negative about this retailer... Thanks for the heads-up. --Mike
gmubeach January 19, 2008 Author January 19, 2008 The light was a good light for the price, but they need to work on the customer service!
gmubeach January 23, 2008 Author January 23, 2008 Someone showed me a thread from a few years ago where my light fixture caught fire:( Based on this and the crappy custemer service I would not recomnd. Additionally they sent both packages without any assembly directions I had to email them for a power point. The protien skimmer on the refuguim doesn't work.
jnguyen4007 January 23, 2008 January 23, 2008 I've heard a lot of negative things in the past about Aquatrader, everything from poor customer service to shoddy and defective products DOA. It was enough to convince me that the possible hassle just wasn't worth saving a few dollars.
bk_market January 30, 2008 January 30, 2008 the light is a good deal. I thought it was good when I bought it. I didnt have any problem with anything catch fire but the ballast suck real bad.
gmubeach February 15, 2008 Author February 15, 2008 I spoke too soon... I have a malfunctioning cooling fan after less then a month I emailed aquatraders hope they can fix it for me or offer me some suggestion...If I have to go out and fix it myself I am going to be sooo irritated

If they wont give you a new one, find something similar at Radio Shack, splice the wires and replace it.
gmubeach February 17, 2008 Author February 17, 2008 It turns out that the smaller models only have one fan and 3 fan ports:) anyway it took them 3 days to responed my mistake.
treesprite March 11, 2008 March 11, 2008 A UV sterilizer I got from there a while back had a part that was messed up and I needed them to send me a new one - they didn't respond to me at all for a few days but then sent the new part with no comments or questions. Looks like they just don't want to deal with people.
