Looking to replace the seaclone that is not working. I saw another thread from earlier this year saying that the remora was a good option. Is it still a good option or is there something else that is better out there now. It will be going on a 29g without a sump.

We use an Aqua C remora on our 35 gallon hex and it works great. For your 29, it should be more than enough (I believe they make a model for smaller tanks but not too sure if it's a HOB kind, but aqua c is).

We got ours from Marine Depot.

I've had good experiences with the cpr back bak, and so has raff.

You get what you pay for with deltec, but they charge a bit more than they're work. JMO

I use an Excalibur, but that may be too big for your system. Works well on my 90g.

I could never get my cpr backpack to work. I liked the remora much better.

You do get what you pay for with a deltec, but they are not over priced for what they do. I've had a bakpak, remora, asm, euroreef and now have a deltec. The consistent performance of the deltec far exceeds any of these skimmers.
