vrroom May 24, 2007 May 24, 2007 Does anyone know any local store (NOVA) that carry All-Glass silicone?
Rascal May 24, 2007 May 24, 2007 Wally's usually has it. I have also used GE Silicone I (not Silicone II, which has antimicrobial stuff) without any problems.
steveoutlaw May 24, 2007 May 24, 2007 BRK has the big boy tubes of silicone......to be used with a caulk gun.

yagerboy May 24, 2007 May 24, 2007 I recommend the GE Silicone I. You can get at any hardware store and is cheap. Just make sure it says 100% silicone.
Guest JasonD May 24, 2007 May 24, 2007 The GE Silicon I (and II) says not for use in aquariums. I see folks are using it anyway -- next time I buy some I guess I save a little money compared to the AGA silicon.
luceneck May 24, 2007 May 24, 2007 I warn people all the time about using GE silicone. The tube I used did not have any indication on the label that it had the mold inhibitor in it, but my aquarium quickly let me know that it did. I lost a lot of corals/fish/snails because I wanted to save $2 on a tube of silicone. It's not worth it in my book, but I guess I can't stop you.

Just go to Wally's/SuperPetz/Petco, etc and cough up $10-$15 for a huge tube. tim

Thanks for the warning I think this is actually very good advice.
Grav May 26, 2007 May 26, 2007 I'm in the anti-GE group. You can find the AGA stuff all over. The one with the caulk gun works best for big jobs.

yauger May 27, 2007 May 27, 2007 just finished building a 20L sump with the GE I silicone, worked great. on top of that it was cheap, cause I think superpets sells it for $11 a tube.
jason the filter freak May 30, 2007 May 30, 2007 I'm using perfecto silicone on my nano project, works great since I don't have a big bulky caulk gun to mess with http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14823
