krish October 20, 2004 Author Share October 20, 2004 Ghazanfar, I have changed ownership of the item from Martin to You as well as added the Reflector/socket and 3 pin wire for you. The List above reflects the latest changes. Phil, Thanks for the thanks. We are all equally crazy -krish
Grav October 20, 2004 Share October 20, 2004 Krish, I didn't realize that I did need those end caps, but now I see the free item is an end cap mont, not an end cap. Good thing I have you looking out for me. Phil
krish October 20, 2004 Author Share October 20, 2004 Folks, I sent out the order and got a call back on the VHO lamp pricing. The same issue that Phil ran into. I explained the reason and they understand the discrepancy. Purchasing just the lamps versus purchasing it as a combo with the ballast. -krish

krish October 21, 2004 Author Share October 21, 2004 Scott, I called them and fixed the issue. You should be covered. They said that they will try to ship it out by this evening, so we should receive it on/before 27th. -krish

krish October 21, 2004 Author Share October 21, 2004 Ok Folks, The stuff is on the way. Hello Lights order Dave, They used UPS and not Fedex. Typically the UPS arrives around 6pm or so for residential. I can request if they can do a morning delivery or perhaps deliver at my work premise or hold at the UPS center and i can pick up in the morning. Damages - Folks. Our order totalled $1213.75 They accepted to do it for $1100 shipped. This works out to 9.3% discount. I had to go back and re-negotiate, since the discount offered after submitting the larger order was smaller than the one we received the first time around. I was shooting for 10% after shipping. But again, the shipping went up as well. Overall, 9% is fair after shipping. That still holds the 13% that they offered to begin with pre-shipping. thanks krish
Guest dmartin72 October 21, 2004 Share October 21, 2004 Krish, I just want to thank you again! I appreciate it. Group purchases, what a concept. David PS Anyone see both of the baseball games yesterday? WOW :p
xeon October 21, 2004 Share October 21, 2004 krish, I am flying back in to Dulles on the 28th and the shipment is slated for the 27th. So it looks like this is going to work out great. Thanks again. BTW, I did watch a little bit of the Boston-NY game. I'm not a fan of either team, but I am glad to see Boston in the World Series. "Who's your daddy!!!!" That was too funny, I don't think I could have hit a 10ft. strike zone with that chant going on.
HowardofNOVA October 21, 2004 Share October 21, 2004 Great Job Krish, Between this order and the Reeftopia order I did a few months ago, We purchased over $2000 worth of equipment and saved the group over $300.00 COOL! krish October 23, 2004 Author Share October 23, 2004 Folks, Here is the breakdown of the $1100 total. I have applied the 9% discount and rounded off lower I have an Excel spreadsheet to compute the totals for the entire purchase. Don't want to embed the interactive HTML version on this forum, since one can only Open it with IE and not Netscape. Exporting as Html skews the entries by a tab and don't know how to get it aligned as text. Let me know and i can email it to those that want to take a peek at the itemized listing. thanks krish Michael - 148 Phil - 278 Luke - 91 Krish - 146 howard - 19 Dave-139 scott-101 Doug-9 Ghazanfar-84 Martin-86 ------------------ Total - 1101

krish October 27, 2004 Author Share October 27, 2004 Folks, The shipment should arrive later this evening. I will do a check this evening to see if the order was intact. Folks can show up later tonight at my home in Herndon or can swing by my office in Herndon on Thursday. Martin is planning to stop by around 10:30am to 11:30 am or so on thursday. If i know who wants to swing by at my work, i can bring the stuff to work in the morning. -krish
Guest Ghazanfar Ghori October 27, 2004 Share October 27, 2004 Krish, I can drop by this evening. Any particular time you'd like me to come by? I can swing by pretty much any time after 8pm.

krish October 27, 2004 Author Share October 27, 2004 Folks, Sorry. I am not rushing you all to take it off my hands I mentioned tonight or tomorrow because some of you cannot resist the urge to play with the new toys. If weekend works best, no problem. -krish

krish October 28, 2004 Author Share October 28, 2004 Folks, Update. The Good and the Bad. Lets get the Good first. Most of the shipment came out well except for 2 items. For the Bad., 1 48" coralife fluorescent came damaged. We ordered 4. 3 for Phil and 1 for Howard. I have filed a damage report with UPS. It was late when i inspected the contents and Hello lights had already called it a day I will call them tomorrow and discuss it. I hope to sort this out soon. The second issue is the power cords. Instead of shipping out 5, they shipped out 3. Ghazanfar already expressed interest in the ARO VHO ballast + endcaps + fluorescent lamps. I am going to call Hello Lights tomorrow. Let me compile a list in case they are going to shipout, we might as well try to bundle it. -krish
michaelg October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 If there isn't a cord for me, it's no big deal. I have an electrical supply place right up the road, or I'll cut one off a dead powerhead or something.
krish October 28, 2004 Author Share October 28, 2004 Michael, Let me call Hellolights and see what our options are. They charged us for 5 cords. Moreover, the broken lamp needs to be replaced. So they will have to ship us something or the other anyway. -krish
Grav October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 Howard can have a good lamp, I really only NEED one each (blue and 10k) for now... and you guessed it, I only need one power cord for now. Short term problem solved. But I won't tell em if you don't. Clearly then need to reship some stuff, and my experiance is they offten toss in a "Freebie" or two to make up for errors like this. If I'm the only one that is "out" I can wait untill all other items have been inspected and approved by their owners.... say early next week? krish October 28, 2004 Author Share October 28, 2004 Phil and Michael, Thanks for being accomodative. I will sort this out tomorrow. More over Armson wanted some MH stuff and Ghazanfar wanted VHO stuff. These appear to total around $350 or so. I am sure they might do something better. It is a matter of time. Per my call to UPS, they want me to repack the box with the damaged lamp and keep it ready for the truck driver to pick up and then inspect it in their station. They will then sort it out with hello lights. I have filed the report, but will let hellolights call the shots. I definitely don't like the idea of sending good stuff back. Looking at the way the lamp was damanged and no other damages in the package, i believe it was a cockpit error at packing time. Will know what happens by tomorrow. -krish
Grav October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 I don't understand the comment "sending good stuff back." What is going back, the whole order, all the bulbs, or just the broken one?
