  1. Let me know if you are borrowing Johnnys... if not I'll bring and give the YBe... Dave
  2. I bet your getting that cooling from evaporation, not pulling the hot air away from the bulbs. Dave
  3. Hard to tell without seeing pictures, but my guess would be the sailfin got a tail swag with the bone they have (very sharp) in their tail... Doubt it's scratching on the rocks (unless that fish is doing that a lot). Dave I should add, good water quality is the best thing for him/her. Dave
  4. Are you going to the Mr. Coral social? (I'm near there). http://www.professionalequipment.com/defau...ogle&pt=pfp Dave
  5. Watts up... (name of the product, not a general saying) I've got one, not sure you want to make the trip to borrow it though, but you are of course welcome as long as I get it back. Dave
  6. You may want to consider selling the MH lights and get a T5 solution. Dave
  7. Without cooling down the room the tank is in or cooling the mud room down a LOT this is not going to be the best (in my mind) This is a good option Sounds like a lot of work and you may need the chiller anyway Is there sump? If so where? Where is the thermostat for the house (is there a room specific one?). You are going to have to: Either Vent that air or cool the air or cool the water down. You can put fans on a sump or tank, but that will cause more water into the air... may work better in the garage if the sump is there. More details. Dave
  8. Whats the "POWER" feature? I know of no way of doing this except when you program a minimum off time (as we did with your MH above), AND the controller is on a power backup.... Reason is when power comes back on and the AC unit reboots, the plugs on the DC8s (or 4s) see their status as how they last were (on or off) and the devices will respond as soon as power is returned... UNLESS THE Aquacontroller had done something to the status. Dave
  9. Hmmm I've never really found that to be much of an issue (but maybe you grind your food more than I do) Dave
  10. Why would you want to jel it? So you wouldn't freeze it? How long would it keep? Dave
  11. Actually that's backwards you want: MAX Change 040 M THEN MHL OFF THese leaves it off for a minimum of 40 mins before it turns back on (I just realized I had it wrong in my code as well... it's fixed now. It's instaneous (so next reading, 1 min or less) Yes // but I don't think they can be on a line all by themselves only at the end of a statement. See above, this is what the maxchange statement is for... Best to have a power supplly (battery backup for the AC Unit itself to deal with brownouts) I'm one of those everything guys... If I were to leave stuff off it would be hard... Reason is I like to have feed mode turn pumps off, or turn them off for cleaning, or picture taking... Other than that I really can't think of anything... I'm working on establishing my switches (now rewired to 6 to shut off systems if I want) Tell that to Curt if you ever see him As I said above reverse the ON to OFF in the Max change (40 mins it will be off for though).... to stagger just set different times liek: Max Change 030 M Then MH1 ON Max Change 040 M Then MH2 ON Dave
  12. Yes this thing is very cool!! As was stated above you can do it with two time statements, or with an OSC statement. I just wait till I get an alarm. All those text messages would drive me crazy. I do not have an audible alarm. If there is an alarm condition the timer ALM gets set which triggers the text message to be sent. Correct. Dave
  13. Actually doug, that was for skunk cleaners. Peppermint's have been well documented as being raised through. Dave
  14. No I want to see the screen when you log onto the auqacontroller with telnet and issue those commands. Dave
  15. Do you both have teh plus service it refers to? Also James can't you run the commands and create an image for us to look at? Dave For DOS image... get it on the screen... CTRL-Print Screen should create a copy of the screen in memory. Paste into your favorite image editing program and crop to size. Dave
  16. 3 is a possiblity I hadn't thought of, but 1-2 I doubt... why would it work one one set of water and not on another... Dave
  17. James, Show us the output.... lman... looks like yahoo is not allowing the command connection... Check your username and password Dave
  18. Nope... that's the best way to say leave this thing on! ave
  19. As above while Aquanotes will do this, and lite is free, if you have a III or a III Pro you DO NOT NEED Aquanotes. Everything can be done by just hooking the AC unit up to your computer network and then using a web browser. By far the best way to do this (oh and yet another reason to get a III or a III Pro) OSC Turns something on for a certain amount of minutes and then off for certain amount of minutes. For example if you have a kalk stirer that you want to come one 1 mintue an hour: OSC 001/059 THEN KLK ON The KLK timer is on for 1 min then off for 59. Random works almost the same except it's on for a random amount of time (1 to # programed minutes) and then off a random amount of time (1 to # programed minutes). There is currently no way to do this. THe power statement only works if two things are true: 1) The power that goes off is the power supplied to the controller unit 2) The controller unit has a backup power source (otherwise it's off and can't do anything ) Dave
  20. That's the main thing that is affecting the pH level (the CO2 level)... I don't think you will ever have too little CO2 in the system (i.e. the pH will be detrimentally high before that happens), but you can have an overabundance of CO2 which means low O2 which can lead to fish and other livestock death. As for the normal range 7.8-8.5 is probably safe as Dave allready said. The actual high or low is not as important as the swing! Dave
  21. I don't know of the copper having an effect on the amonia test, BUT it would not surprise me. That being said do you have anything (bioballs, etc) that is applying any kind of filtration? Dave
  22. treesprite, Babies is what to expect, but don't expect to get them to full grown maturity. Here is an article... looks like 40-65 days is settlement time (and that's the hard time to get them through). http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-10/nftt/ Dave
  23. Now that is too cool. Man I wish I had your fabrication skills! Nice Job. Dave
