  1. Thanks again ERC and Marcos. Always top notch service and always going above and beyond.
  2. When is the next live sale or similar you guys a are having? Would be nice to have one for us MD'ers so that we wouldn't have to travel so far. Got some new lights and need to get some colorful goodies including some nice sps mini colonies. I missed the last 2 you all had, so please pm me with the details! .
  3. Had my 2nd experience with ERC, and just like my first visit with Richard, Marcos was also top notch and best of all they are located in MD. Got 2 sps colonies and additional 2 free frags which all are doing great. The lps store front is a must go, great customer service and friendly attitude. Hopefully more fish and sps in their future. Great to see quality and good service, it's been a while. Keep up the good work.
  4. I use this, couple of issues, only for 2 hours and needs to be replaced once in a while as it could fail as the timer get stuck http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100659515/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=Water+timer&storeId=10051#.UM43fny9KSP
  5. not sure if you thought of it, but what about air circulation? going to get pretty stuffy in there. From the pics it looks like you did paint some of the ducts, but the will rust if you did not. looks great, and good luck
  6. Eric Borneman came out with an article stating how brute trash cans have some negative impact on coral larvae, eggs and/or sperm or something along those lines a while back. Here is the article of anyone wants to read it. http://forum.marinedepot.com/Topic101230-9-1.aspx
  7. can you place them in a phosban reactor? also how much do you use for a 50, 100, 200 gal system. if i was to fill up the phosban reactor (two little fishies) full, what is the capacity?
  8. if you keep them well fed, you should be okay, however like what L8 states "depends on how much you care for the fish" plus shrimp. the Golden tends to hide for most of the time, mine will pop his/her head out only when its hungry.
  9. the mandarin was eating fine, my tank has a bunch of stuff he/she would eat. dang eel. thanks all
  10. i alway thought that the skin on a mandarin was tough and nasty (not sure why i think that), i have an adult golden dwarf moray eel 12-14" long and just purchased the spotted mandarin about a month ago. he was about 1-2" big. havent seen the bugger in a week, you think the eel ate it?
  11. just a bit confused and a bit curious on water quality. most of you know that in the ocean, where there are no nutirents there are also none to limited life. however in nutirent rich areas, there is a variety of life including reefs. in our fish tanks, i heard of 2 different sides. somewhere on RC i read that a persons sps were loosing color because the water was too clean, however on the other spectrum i and others strive for pristine water conditions with zero nitrates, phosphates, etc... so my question is what do they mean nutirents? i kind of leaning toward more dirty water as the chemical aspects makes sense, however i am no chemist. thoughts? not sure if there is truly a correct answer as there are probably different aspects that i am probably missing.
  12. "Every month, see Home Page" not to be a a$$, however what kind of answer is that? really? the current TOTM was april and may's, and its mid June. if behind thats all good, but dont say every month. maybe do it once a quarter would be better? thanks to the TOTM volunteers, for their time.
  13. I know it takes a lot of dedication and volunteer hours, however does WAMAS still do TOTM?
  14. just as the title states any pro's con's?
  15. contact ALMON or dbartco they have had success in the past rearing clowns
  16. might try to light acclimate next time
  17. i think its something else, what are your water parameters. are those the only sps you have?
  18. whenever you move your tank and get it running. dont want to give you frags that you'll just kill in a couple of days
  19. thanks for the replies. what stinks is you buy an interesting addition and you never get to see it. funny how i hunt for it to make sure its not dead. feed it today, place the food in the same spot, looked away for at most 5 secs, and the food was gone, got the flashlight out and saw a glimp of it. hope it gets a little more social. wonder how they catch these things traveller, mine definately has those characteristics vertical striping and blue eyes.
  20. thanks, feeding it table shrimp and clams for now. using forceps buy think he is still a little scared
  21. no these guys dont get that big: http://www.themarinecenter.com/fish/eels/goldendwarfmorayeel/
  22. Just received a golden dwarf moray eel as my latest addition to my tank. anyone have experience with these guys? i never see the eel, only occasionally when the main lights go off. i place food in the same spot every time, at first i use to see it eat the food, now i dont. guess its not that hungry what have you guys or gals done to train the eel so that it would be visable? do you feed it once a day, once every other day?
