  1. look into some of the geniacnthus angels (bellus.swallow tail, lemarck...etc) great fish wont touch corals
  2. do you have any corals in the tank? if so i would not recomend lowering the salinity
  3. the 6 lines are pretty cool i liked mine till he jumped, copperbands can be picky eaters i got one from ea wouldnt eat died in a week but a few weeks later i got anohter and he loves to eat mysyis and takes care of aptasia been alive about a month now as far as that type of ang goes i pefer the purple. you may also want to check into some of the genicanthus type angels very nice fish and wont eat your corals

    im pretty sure they need to be target fed but im not real sure on the best diet for them

  6. i have seen the rich watson has even though it invloves a little extra plumbing it seems to be very affective he also had the 8 port model but it was not hooked up i would contact him about it i think he has t in some client systems also
  7. my gsm wa nice as coul be till i gave him a rbta now he is quite vicious
  8. clearner shrimp work great and its fun to watch the shrimp climb all over the fish i dont know about you but i know in my tank catching a fish is darn near impossable

  10. i have heard foxface can be nippers if you really want angels look at some of the genacanthurus types they are a deep water species and dont eat corals at all i ahve the lamark angel doing great. as forthe tangs im not sure how new to this you are but i have heard pwder blue's can be somewhat tricky to keep. and keep substrate in mind if you plan on the jawfish
  11. i got one from ea was eating mysis but only laster about 2 weeks and found him stuck to the powerhead
  12. i would try to find a club member or someone with reef expierience that could keep an eye on it for you also try to automate things as much as possiblesuch as timers for lights reactors for aditives float switch for top off so that whoi ever you do end up with watching the tank may be able to get away with just adding a little food
  13. your old rock dosent have anything left on it but i would definetly still use it just get a few new pieces to seed it. as far as substrate for me i use about 1.5 inch of aragamax select. personally i think dsb's are more harm then good in the long run. i use the 1.5 inch and have some nassarius (not sure about that spelling) snails to move it around a bit just my 2 cents ken

  15. i would have to say frags from local people are the way to go thats how i stcoked my entire tank and if you want some nice loking colonies even though they are clollected from the wild reefermadness.us had nice stuff
  16. i had a long spine they are grweat for grazing algae but they also grow very fast and as they grow become clumsy i also think it may have damaged on of my montipora but i cant be sure of it.id say get one let it do its job then get rid of it.i also had to catch a purple tank and pull a spine out of its face not real easy
  17. you should try to talk them into it they even have a breeding pair of the gobie that is in your avatar
  18. i know this is off topic but if your going to new york i recomend checking out atlantis marine worl its in riverhead they have a 20,000gl reef tank,a 2,000gl anemone tank and a 120,000gl shark tank. i was just there this weekend and to say it is amazing dosent do it any justice at all:laugh:

  20. if you get a sailfin (or any tang) wait and get the smallest one possible personally i like some of the smaller wrasse's stay small add lots of movement also big fan of genacanthurus (reef safe ) type of angels
  21. if you really only want one bulb and dont mind the ends of the tank dark just make sure you out your coral in the middle
  22. i agree you will need 2 bulbs for a 4 foot tank i have 2x250 over my 75 gl
  23. i have had my gs maroon in with a variety of different fish i ahve never seen it act agressively toward others until i got it a rose bta but even then it only keeps others out of the rose bta
  24. just out of curiosity how much of a sandbed do you plan on having
  25. if you want to take a road trip exotic aquatics is a great store just outside baltimore top quality livestock we also have the aquarium center which you can get a good deal on a tank and they have alot in stock
