i had a snowflafe and he did fine eating krill and table shrimp. i never tried live food because i just have a hard time buying animals and tossing them to thier death. i understand its nature and the food chain and all that i just dont want to have to do that all the time

i have a float switch from grainger in the sump hooked to a powerhead in a rubermaid tub next to the tank and when the level goes low the water pumps in i think thats about the most simple way you just have to make sure to keep the switch clean so it dosent stick

exotic aquatics is the way to go in my opinion most of my fish are from there and they always have healthy livestock

the bulb is not in a canopy and it is about 6 inches or so above the brace

i have a 250w bulb over a 46gl and i just have a fan blowing right on the center brace (back to front) and it stays alot cooler then i thought it would

you can get one of the genacantus type angels they dont eat corals at all

i would stick with some sort of wrasse, some psuedocromis can be pretty agressive

i have had emerald crabs (green and pink) sally light foot crabs arrow crabs most are dead now but never had a problem with them bothering any coral

i have a 75gl+20glsump+5gl top off in one room in anouther room i have a 37gl in another room i have a 55gl nock on wood all is good

hippo tangs are very prone to ich mine gets a little once in a while and it just kinda comes and goes cleaner shrimp and cleaner gobies work pretty well i have also heard tha "kick ich" work well but i have never tried it myself

what about live rock? frags are cuttings from corals that grow into their own colony.and yes you can just add corals as you get them what lighting does it have ? that will pretty much determine what corals you can keep

what is your alk? and what do you use to keep it there (daily additives,reactor...etc)

you really only need enough to see the fish but with a little better light and maybe some actinic supplementaton the colors will be better

the copperband is working well for me but nake sure when you buy one it is eating at the store ( mysis or something) for they can be picky eaters and when they run oout of aptasia and feather dusters and such they will starve mine eats mysis like crazy

yeah iwouldnt worry to much aout it i have one in mine to but i like him there he keeps it clean in there i also have a cleaner goby in there for like 6 montrhs cant get him out and he dosent seem to mind it to much

using ro/diwater? thats what made the difference for me but i also did have to take all the rock out and scrub it with a steel brush but i would only recomend that as an absolue last resort

i also wouldnt balme the shrimp could just be one of those things i had the same thing happen wiht my yellow wrasse a few weeks ago one he was ther the next just gone. the remaining clopwn should be fine or being tank raised you could probably put another (either a little bigger or smaller ) in wiht it (also try for tank raised again)

i goy snails and such from them and it was fine also i was not refering to pigmy angels i was refering to the genacanthus angels such as the bellus the lemarc the masked swallow tail the zebra etc.....
