  1. Got my plumbing done on the frag system yesterday and got water moving. Still up in the air with what I will do for lights, probably a ceiling mounted 5ft aquatic life T5 hybrid with 3 xr15’s. My puppy Moose photobombing all my pics [emoji41][emoji190] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yea, so disclaimer....I purchased the tank with a small chip (guys call it a clamshell) on the bottom of the tank. I assumed that I would be making the purchase just for the beautiful custom stand and canopy and have to replace the tank, fortunately for me the tank held fresh water for a week outside, then a week inside up on the stand. I would never trust this situation if it were for a client, but for my single level concrete slab house, I was (am) willing to take the risk. Got a coincidental call from Coast to Coast Aquariums, they were reaching out because they found my maintenance business on instagram and and are interested in starting a relationship for new builds. Chris at C2C said this was at least a $10k steal. Both sides and end are 3/4” starphire come on mannn! [emoji851] He said the canopy alone was over $1400 on the invoice. 5. I definitely tend to agree with that ^ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. I got the I/o port option. It plugs into the old school computer data cord looking hole on the apex base unit or most other older modules. (Next to the cat5 lan cable port) from there you’ll be able to see it on apex fusion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I’ve had the avast skimmate locker for years and would recommend it. The sensor on mine is connected to the I/o port on my apex to turn the skimmer air pump off when the collection chamber needs cleaned. ~5” reactor size. At least 20x the volume of the collection cup alone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. get unscented non-splashless bleach if you go that route, rinse well and they make sure they are completely dry before putting them back in your tank. Peroxide also works really well, i’ve been using the washing machine for years. It helps if you buy a ton of extra socks and run the wash when all or most are dirty. 11. He said that gfo becomes more effective because of the free ions exchanged during the oxidizing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. When I worked for House of Fins (CT), I was blown away by the quality (and prices they fetch) for livestock when I made my first trip to their store. The prices were roughly 3 times what I was seeing around here locally for the same fish, but the specimens were DEFINITELY not treated the same. Im not attempting to plug them here, but to your point about cost vs price knowing you are buying healthy, fat, happy and eating livestock is worth $$$ IMO Divers Den and LA are two totally different things from my experience as well.
  13. How wide is the tank? I could possibly help you out tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If you have space for the 4ft, max out that space and go for the 425xl [emoji16] 75l more water volume with similar footprint. When I do installs for upgrades, I like to try to keep as much “clean” water as possible, that is before the detritus and junk gets stirred up from the bottom once the sand is agitated. +1 on rubbermaid / home depot black tote for the move, it will allow you to keep everything close and completely submerged but allow you the space you need for the new tank to be placed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
