My first tank was 20g and I did a 5g water change every two weeks. I used this unit for a year and a half before I saw any TDS in the water. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aquatic-Life-RO-Buddie-4-Stage-DI-50gpd-RO-DI-/262742572500?hash=item3d2cad7dd4:g:-uYAAOSwImRYP0tW

Hi Matt
My name is Shawn and I live in Manassas. This all depends on your budget.
Lower budget I would go with. CaribSea Sand, SCA 303 skimmer and 2 jebao RW8. A little higher budget I would go with. CaribSea Sand, Reef Octopus skimmer and 2 mp40s.
I took a pice of PVC about 5 inches long and drilled a hole in it big enough to fit over the retracted BTA. The next day I picked up the PVC to see if the BT was ok and he had moved onto the PVC.
I've been using a SCA 301 for over 2 years now. The only time my skimmer ever acted like that was when I used Chemiclean. It went crazy for about 2 week.
Name is Shawn I'm 41 years old. Got into the hobby two years ago. I have a 40 breeder with a 20 gallon sump. I'm here to learn and help out as much as possible.
