  1. I live in Gaithersburg and have a 220 I want to get drilling but don't trust myself enough to do it. Was just wondering if anyone in area done it and comfortable doing it again? Or know a company that would drill for me.
  2. I agree I would go 180 or even a 6' 220 but that 125 will not give you the depth you want front to back for a reef or even swimming room for tangs.
  3. Never mind missed the part with ups to router
  4. Just quick question. If you lose power and lose wifi how will it be able to alert you?
  5. Where does everyone buy there lrs at? I only know of one store in my area that carries it and that's kings of coral
  6. Have you cleaned it in a while?
  7. Imo there are just as many problems as you can run into with a drip acclimation as just dropping in. It's always good to have both waters very close so there is no shock from temp and ph. But if your not careful when drip acclimating you can run into aproblem I know a few people I know have. When you drip the water from your tank to a bucket or whatever the fish is in you lose a lot of your tank temp when the water slowly drips. If don't believe me test this out the water in tank will be a little different depending on your house temp. Now with people running heat and ac this isn't always a problem but can be. Best way if drip is to rematch temp by floating again in tank to match temp before adding. I find that this is a lot of work and personally only float to match temp with my fish and haven't lost one yet. I do same thing with coral only difference is I dip at least once with coral.
  8. Thanks a lot guess I'll be on the look out for someone with an old android for sure now
  9. That's awesome. My CBB loves Larry's food as well but I do feed the regular reef and fish frenzy because of my other fish I have. Mine does the eat and spit thing from time to time but is growing great I've already noticed it great another band but I've had mine almost a year now. I just moved it from a tank that had a 11" queen trigger and 8" lion to my reef tank where it seems to be liking it now. Actually got picked on more in my reef tank then the predator tank.
  10. Ok time for Saturday at 3pm is confirmed please pm me if you can help. I will let you know addresses then. Thanks for any and all help.
  11. Do you think cups that will carry 125lbs each cup would work?
  12. I went and bought 4 of the ones the carry at Home Depot other day but not sure if they will be strong enough.
  13. Was wondering if had any word as to when the new CS3 updated skimmers will be available?
  14. Ok if I set something up for say 3 or 4pm on Saturday 4/16 do you think I can get a few guys on each end? I really could use the help I'm moving into a new house and having hard time finding people I know to help. Like I said before I have a truck with a lift gate to make it little easier. I also have beer or whatever you might want to help just really could use a few guys. Please let me know if those times work or I can even work around you all. Just saw most of people that said could help said afternoon.
  15. Ok thanks Alan. I'm trying to set it up for the afternoon evening time. I'm waiting for conformation from member with tank if Saturday will actually work for him and he is supposed to let me know Tuesday so I will try and post a time on when planning on doing it.
  16. Thanks so much if able. I got beers for anyone that's helps lol.
  17. I am going to be picking up a tank from another wamas member but could really use a few hands if possible. Tank is a 220g and to be picked up in Boyds MD and going to Damascus. I have a stake body truck with a lift gate to make things only slightly easier. Looking to try and move it next Saturday 4/16. I have to confirm a time with the other member but just getting a feel on if I can get any help here. So far I have 1 buddy that's going to help but figure might need at least an extra 2-3 people. Thanks in advance as well.
  18. This s so true. I personally don't even like buying corals from people that run wrasse's in their tanks because most of time they were put there for a pest problem. I've found even dipping in bayer it's not 100% to get rid of all pest.
  19. That actually sounds like a lfs near me as well. Even the snails are covered in aiptasia. I refuse to buy from there anymore plus there fish selection looks worst then petco.
  20. Tom what or how did you do it to quickly. I'm moving in a few weeks and want to make sure I cover all bases to make sure this doesn't happen to me.
  21. Will the CS3 be enough. I see it's only rated for 200-400g and always though was good to go by x2 water volume for skimmers. I have a few big fish which is one reason why I'm upgrading in first place. Current livestock is 4-5" purple tang, 5" foxface, 6" niger trigger, 3-3.5" coral beauty, 3-4" copperband, 3" maroon clown, 2" yellow coris wrasse, and 14" snowflake eel along with 50-60 different corals and big cuc.
  22. System would be a 220g DT with a 120g tank built to sump/fuge. Sump would be in a closet so I need to plumb to tank anyways so internal or external wouldn't make to much of a difference but I have plenty of room in sump. I totally agree that losing a skimmer in a high load would be really bad. I am currently using the regel 170int now from reef octopus on my 120g DT and haven't had a problem yet and personally love the fact I can change the pump speeds to adjust the skimmer without adjusting the valve. I have only had it running for a year now so long term is questionable but I'm pretty sure could always replace pump.
  23. I would like to hear some people's opinions on what skimmer they would personally use and why if you were to setup a reef system with about 300g total with DT and sump. Tank would be pretty heavy stocked with fish and coral. I'm leaning towards the Reef Octopus regel 250int because I like the DC pumps and the lower electric draws they come with as well. Been talking to a buddy that loves his Bashsea but I don't know enough about them. Let me hear your thoughts please.
