  1. Thanks for all the encouragement. The bad thing is I already do the Selcon soaking of frozen food. And I feed New Life with garlic. I thought I was keeping them healthy.... The medications I have on hand are: Cupramine Prazipro Methylene Blue Marco - Should I combine the Cupramine and an antibiotic in the QT? I am going to catch all my fish and put them in QT.
  2. I need to take a breather, because right now I feel horrible and my wife is mad at me. She loved the fish.
  3. Most of the time we use WAMAS to brag about our tanks and talk about our successes. I on the other hand talk more about my failures than my successes. This is a huge failure that is going on right now.... So I had a post online that I had a fish looking bad. It was a One spot Foxface. Well, I am ashamed to say that I am in the middle of a tank fish apocalypse because of stupid mistakes I made. Over the last two days I have had the following deaths in 2 tanks that are linked together: 4 Picasso Clownfish 2 Bicolor Blennies 1 Royal Flasher Wrasse 1 Mandarin 1 Assessor 1 Cherub Angelfish 1 Royal Gramma I am a bad parent and feel horrible. Most of the fish didn't show signs of sickness. They just started hiding and then the next day they were floating dead. Most of these fish I have had over a year. Over the last couple of weeks I have added a few fish. Stupid me did not do any kind of QT on these fish. I just did a Methylene Blue dip on them and acclimated them to my tank. 4 of these fish are the only ones still alive. All of my "old" fish are dead. Fish that are still alive at the moment: 2 Chalk Bass 1 Melanarus Wrasse 1 Christmas Wrasse 1 Foxface (sick as heck in QT tank) I assume they will be dead soon. I don't know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. FYI - All of my parameters are fine. Temp - 78 Salinity - 35 Phosphates - .04 ppm Nitrates - .1 - .2 ppm Alk - 145 All corals are doing fine as well.
  4. Marco - Ive had him about 3 years and he has had an outbreak of what I thought was ich a couple of times. Each time it has gone away. This "outbreak" started about 2 days ago. I introduced a new fish about a week ago. Do you think the stress is what triggered it to come back? I thought maybe the new fish somehow infected him, even though the new fish was in a QT tank for a little over a week with Cupramine and Prazipro.
  5. Foxy the fox face. He was hiding during the day which is strange. Yes the spots are the issue. Sorry for the bad pic. The clown is just getting QRd. He's normal.
  6. That's kind of a creepy picture. Haha.
  7. Elbow grease and spit. Once it snaps, that is a feeling of achievement!
  8. To heck with reef shame or pride. My wife's favorite fish just got sick. I tore the tank apart catching him to put him in QT. Can anyone help me diagnose the issue? Below is a pic. Gave him a 10 sec MB dip and now he is getting a Cupramine bath. Am I on the right track? He seems to be acting a little better. Not sitting on the bottom anymore. Please. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Nice! Are there any that you have issues with like aggression or picking at corals?
  10. I have a couple of frags that came with algae on the plug. The algae is growing now. I'm not educated or confident enough to do a peroxide dip without advice. Can someone give me a quick how-to on dipping SPS frags and Zoa frags, so I don't kill em'? Dosages would be important.
  11. I would rather just have the money. A tank that size is going to cost some serious dough.
  12. What size was that tank? I think it has more to do with order introduced and species. You gotta plan it out well in advance and you may still get one with a bad personality. I planned out my 3 wrasses in the cube and they all get along perfectly.....so far. I don't think there will ever be a sure fire combo of wrasse that work 100% of the time.
  13. As a club, it appears we are keeping the hobby funded and retailers in business...[emoji23][emoji23]
  14. Thanks for sharing that. Those are truly beautiful wrasses. Hearing first hand advice is great. I love leopard wrasses but they intimidate me. Lots of sad stories with leopards.
  15. Femininus Wrasse pair or a Flame Fairy Wrasse pair are at the top of my list. Still researching though.
  16. I really like Mystery wrasses, but when I research them I get really different reports. I buddy of mine had a Mystery and said he was a model citizen. Beautiful fish. He's suggested it for a while, but I've read some bad experiences too with aggression. I have all peaceful fish. I'd hate to mess that up. Do you have one?
  17. So I am going a different direction with fish. I AM going to put a screen on the tank. I was stubborn, but started getting scared/paranoid about carpet surfing fish. I also realized that this shallow reef look down isn't as perfect as it was in my head during the pre-planning stages. Since I am heavy SPS, I have turbulence on the water surface. I can't just walk up and look down at my pretty fish and corals. In my head I would just stroll up to my beautiful tank and appreciate the view. I didn't want to have a screen on the tank because I didn't want to have to lift the screen. I wanted instant gratification. Well that didn't work out so well. In order to see anything I have to turn off the return and powerheads then wait for a few seconds, then the surface is calm enough to see down. Now I figure I will just flip up my screen during that wait. Basically I am going to take the advice given above but ignored earlier [emoji23][emoji23] Now since I will have a screen, we can talk fish. Current residents 2 Chalk Bass Bicolor Blenny Spotted Mandarin 3 Picasso Clowns Cleaner Shrimp I have a few wrasses in another tank and I love them. I'm going to get 5 wrasses that get along. 2 of them I want to be a pair. Would love a pair that look very different from each other. Would also like a pair that actual care about each other rather than a pair that attack each other all the time. A male that shows off for his woman would be cool like the Flame Fairy Wrasse. Anyone ever had a cool pair of wrasses?
  18. Seth you always have some good ideas for fish. I'm thinking the same.
  19. It's not even Christmas. I wish I got "surprises" like that.
  20. Actually I think that pic above is a Kenya Wrasse. It is very similar, but different. Good lookin fish too
  21. Good suggestion. They look really cool close up and that yellow does pop.
