  1. Quantum Reefs and HOT have them.
  2. Top down shots are sweet. I've never had such a good view of my stuff!!
  3. Good to know!! I put them in the corner!
  4. Is like drilling hardwood. Just take your time. Nothing really different.
  5. I decided to get one of those BRS small carbon/GFO reactors. Probably only use it every once in a while, but it will be nice to have the capability to use carbon or GFO if needed and not have a firedrill trying to find a reactor. Every once in a while my water just looks a little cloudy.
  6. Which ones? That is only a fraction of the zoas I have. The sad thing is I don't any of their names!! SPSs are easy for me to remember, but zoas and polys.....amnesia. Tell me which one of the pics and I'll try harder to remember!! Ben
  7. eBay. It is 1/2 and great quality. I got an ATO reservoir from the same guy a year or so ago.
  8. So I got tired of the magnetic frag racks blocking the view in my display. I didn't want to deal with a separate system so I tied it into my display. I have an oversized controllable DC pump so I just added a T and a valve. The 16"x16"x6" frag tank was setup to be standalone so I had to do a little creative plumbing to make it work. In order to get the supply in I added 2 bulkheads. One was slipxthread the other threadxslip. This allowed me to install a threaded Loc-line fitting on the tank side and a threaded 90 barb on the back of the tank to keep the plumbing sleek and tight. For the drain I made a modified durso drain to keep it quiet, but didn't do the 90 turndown inside the tank. I put a barbed connection on the drain as well. My supply is 1/2" and the drain is 1". I gave the layout and plumbing a lot of thought because since it is a small tank. I also didn't want it to look like a Frankenstein plumbing job. With the planing low and the black tubing I am very happy with the look. I added an AI Prime light and it completed the package. The tank even makes iPhone pics look good.
  9. Think so? I see six lines in frag tanks a lot with no screen. They are a good pest hunter.
  10. I am setting up this little frag tank off my display. It's 16"x16x6". It's a little thing, but will get my frag racks off the sides of my display which I hate with a passion. I'll be putting the usual frags in it like SPSs and Zoas. I was just going to toss a six line wrasse in there and call it a day, but since the frag tank is in a cool spot I figured I should make it interesting and put something cool in there. Problem is, I have no ideas. It will be bare bottom with one rack 1" off and the other 2" off the bottom. Since the view will be from the top it would be cool to have some acro crabs or some kind of cool worms. Maybe a nudibranch..... Maybe something that would breed.... I think it is a cool opportunity to watch something closely from the top. Could be pretty interesting. It's a great viewing area. Do you guys have any ideas?
  11. Looking good. I'm jealous.
  12. It's good to have some more west side blood. How's your tank coming?
  13. Check out the vendor map. It should help. Lots of good stores with cool owners.
  14. Parameters are all good, but when I do a water change the "new" looks crystal clear and the old water has a yellow tint to it. Not a big deal. No algae blooms or anything. I just figured I would see if there was a way to clear it up. Biologically it is probably a good thing. Those floaters in the water are feeding my critters.
  15. That was my next line of thinking. All of my critters seem to be doing well. I'm not willing to sacrifice that. A clear view of starving animals is not much of a view.
  16. Do you use the Prodibio Bioptim or another Prodibio product? That seams to be the one that focuses on water quality and purifying.
  17. Every ozone tank I have seen has been crystal clear, but I've read some conflicting reports online. Do you have ozone?
  18. I'd like to hear what WAMAS members do to polish their water besides WCs. i.e. carbon, ozone, etc.. I'm just curious.
