  1. I have some areas on my new aquascaping that don't have direct light from my Radion. I put an island/column in my tank and the back side of it does get light, but not direct light. I also have some areas under monti caps that I would like to populate. I have the top figured out for SPSs, but I'm looking for some ideas for the sides where the lighting is lower. I'll post some pics tonight. I obviously stole the island reef idea from the Ecotech advertisements. Since some of you are looking at this post from Taptalk and my signature doesn't show up, this is what I am working with: 60g cube, Radion 15pro G3. Any suggestions for nice looking lower light items? SPS's would be great, but open to other ideas. Photos would be appreciated. Ben
  2. In the process of tracking them down. Everyone seems to be out at the moment. Looks like they aren't too cheap at $50ish.
  3. Decided on trio of ORA Randall's Assessors instead of the blue assessors.
  4. I love mine. I've had it for about 2 years. Awesome.
  5. Ok. Got a Royal Gramma. Now my guests are: Royal Gramma Hawkfish Clown Foxface one spot List of possible invitees: Gumdrop Trio of blue assessors Yellow clown goby Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Done! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Squishie - Where did you find that Gum Drop? I have looked and looked for one!!
  8. I did a forum search, but since the Gyre is so new, I wanted MORE experiences.
  9. Rob - On a scale of 1 to 10 what is your rating at this point?
  10. I know it has been out for a few months and it looks like some WAMAS members bought one, but I don't see any product reviews. What are your thoughts so far? I switched to a new tank and the glass is thicker, so my MP10s are making a little more noise than normal. I've been debating buying a Gyre in stead of new MP40s. What do you guys think about the new Gyre?
  11. Sounds unanimous. Poop and left over food is on the menu then. Some of the WAMAS tanks are ridiculous and I just assumed some of you guys with crazy color and awesome growth had a "special" feeding regiment. I'm ok with poop and left over food....
  12. Haha. Some of you guys have amazing tanks. I'm just trying to soak up as much of your knowledge and experience as possible. It is a lot better than guessing or reading the advertisements. Plus poop is cheap.
  13. Thanks zygode... So no Reef Roids or Marine Snow type products?
  14. Aside from dosing 2 part, what is your feeding regiment? I'm curious.
  15. He came back!! When I stabbed him he spewed white stuff everywhere. When I packed the hole with epoxy, I thought I had him fixed. Apparently he is a tough bugger. Yesterday I saw him push the epoxy out of his hole. He stuck his head up and spun his head around like the Exorcist!!
  16. Only killed the one in the middle of my monti cap from the picture above and one that was growing next to my pokerstar. I have more but the aren't causing and issues. They were both about 3/8" diameter. Today one of the spewed a net that had to be 8" long. Just two trouble makers. I'm not into the genocide thing. I'll leave the rest.
  17. I cleaned the glass and he spewed a web to catch algae pieces....I lost my cool and killed em...and a couple of his friend.
  18. Stabbed and hole packed with epoxy!!
  19. I have a pretty big on in the middle of my monti cap. Should I pluck him out of there or just let him be? He spews every once in a while, but it doesn't seem to bother his landlord. Remove or let be? What do you think?
  20. What do you guys think about this combo? Royal Gamma Orchid Dottyback Clown Goby Or should I get a trio of assessors and one of the above? I don't have a cover for my tank so the jumping jawfish make me a little nervous. I won't introduce them all at the same time of course.
  21. Misinformation is actually one of the reasons I like to post questions on WAMAS. I find answers to my questions all over the internet, but the answers are all over the map. A lot of that information is just made up and it is hard to decipher what is good advice what is BS. WAMAS members seem to have a little more ownership of the information they post. Thanks again everyone!
  22. After reading all of the forums about mandarin deaths and such, I just assumed the mandarin I had years ago was an anomaly....just a lucky pick. I never had problems with him. It was a 65g with about 60 or so lbs of LR. I had the tank for about 3 years or so before I introduced him. That was back in 2002 or 03, so mandarins were rare in my area. When I got him I had no idea what he ate, but he always seemed to be happy and well fed. Thanks for all the feedback. That is good news. I always liked my mandarin. Lots of personality. I'm just going to wait a while until my new reef is going well and try it again. Thanks again everyone.
  23. How many gallons is your tank? Do you have a lot of LR? Keeping the predators down would be important. Sounds like the six-line wrasse eats them. I'll need to figure out what else does. I assume most omnivores and carnivores CAN eat them, but I need to see which fish depend on copepods in their primary diet.
