  1. I'd like to blame the slowness on my computer, but it's probably just me.
  2. This is what happens to bullies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A46EypqdVmY
  3. I think Dwarf Lionfish are so cool and would make an awesome theme tank. That would be my vote.
  4. I've done dwarf blue, jade, electric blue, and Halloween hermits. None of them went after my corals except one of the Halloweens who of course decimated my most expensive coral the first night in the tank. Haven't seen him eating any coral since that, but he did work on my gold torch.
  5. Love the dimensions. Going to be a sweet tank. Can't believe that at 6 feet long it's only 30 gallons, but did the math and you are right. It's just over 31 gallons.
  6. Currently I don't. Thanks for the d120 rec. I've heard/read good things about them. I think part of my hesitation is that I'm not sure if/when I'll upgrade (or to what size). In our current apartment I will almost certainly stick with the 15 so it will depend on future living situation. Do people think it would be worth the extra money to go with an ecoxotic lighting fixture? Or would maybe a Par38 bulb be best?
  7. $95 These are them: http://www.amazon.com/Finnex-Aquarium-Actinic-Strip-24-Inch/dp/B007UQ3OXC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1378773918&sr=8-3&keywords=led+aquarium+light+24+inch+finnex+actinic+ray2
  8. Thanks for the response 703. That's what I'm leaning towards--getting the blues to supplement. I just want to make sure I'm not wasting my money and know there are a lot of more knowledgeable and experienced people on here than me.
  9. So, unfortunately I did not discover WAMAS until after I set up the lighting for my aquarium and now I'm in the following dilemma. I'm currently using the Finnex Ray 2 daylight (all white) and my 15 gal (12 inches deep). All my corals seem to be doing well (not SPS), but I'd like to add some blue light for coral health and general appearance. I'm thinking about buying another Finnex Ray 2 but getting the all actnic blue version and running both, but I'm wondering if that is a waste of money and if I should invest the 90 bucks into a nicer light. I know a nicer light might be nice to have for a future upgrade, but the fact of the matter is I'm probably a couple of years away from upgrading so I'm only thinking about appropriate lighting for this system. I've done a lot of reading on lighting already, but all the info out there is a bit overwhelming so I want to get y'alls input. Bottom line, would greatly appreciate advice on what I should do: 1) Leave it just with current lighting 2) Add Finnex Ray 2 actnic blue (would it be too much light to run both?) 3) Invest in a different light (and if so, what do you recommend, taking into consideration that I don't want to break the bank and that my tank is only 12 inches deep) Thanks in advance!
  10. Update: anemone is doing great! I began to think (hope?) that it was going to split, but the cut seems to have healed up and it is doing well. Thanks again for the advice!
  11. Thanks for all the info! Sounds like the best approach is to let it be for the time being so that's what I'll do. And to some of the earlier questions, it is on single rock and the tear is definitely not the mouth.
  12. The only other thing I can think of is that I do have an anemone crab that the anemone was hosting that now has started chilling on the other side of the tank. Maybe it could have intentionally or accidentally sliced the anemone's foot open....
  13. The way it is situated, it would be really tough if not impossible to get a pic, but I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Can't think of anything that would sting it. No other corals by it. Could a tuxedo urchin have done it?
  14. I just noticed tonight that my rock anemone has an open cut on its foot and seems to be oozing some material (looks like its "guts") from it. It's still colored up, open, and eating. Anybody know what this could be and what if anything I should do about it? Thanks!
  15. I'm tapping out ladies and gents. Going to enjoy the beautiful day. Good luck!
  16. ^agreed. And the sooner the better. My ego needs to win something before I sign off.
  17. I'm too slow for this. I'm just gonna have to buy coral the old fashioned way...
  18. Everybody, look quick, a distraction outside your window!
