  1. Does anyone have pictures of their rics from the last group buy? In particular, the rainbow ones?
  2. For the first month of so they weren't doing any of this. Week One they were inseparable, Week Two and Three they kind of avoided each other, now they've been sparing for 12 consecutive hours
  3. Nice! Sounds like I have plenty of options. Thanks!
  4. A few weeks ago I purchased a pair of ocellaris clowns from Congressional that evidently came from a client of theirs that sold them about 20 very young siblings. These guys are still pretty darn small. Today when I got home from work I found them hanging out "wrestling". They weren't really nipping, but more headbutting and ramming. It's been hours now and they're still going at it. In case it matters, they haven't hosted anything yet, even though the one that's "losing" the fight looks interested in a frogspawn colony that they're next to. Is this normal? Are they determining the female? Already mating? Actually fighting? Thanks.
  5. I'm running (2) Kessil a150w's in my 56g (30" wide) in the 15,000k color and love the look. Corals seem to be happy as well. The biggest difference between the 150's and the 350's is light control, as you have zero control over intensity or color. However, if you run a controller, you would be able to control intensity. The advantage is that they only run $225 a piece instead of $399 each. I guess your budget is going to come into play. With that said, Wade is correct in saying that there are some question marks as to exact output however I can tell you that corals seem very happy in my tank so far.
  6. These are absolutely amazing.
  7. 360's are out but are just hitting distributors. I don't know anyone local that's carrying them yet but I know that Diablo Coral in Cali has them.
  8. Are there such a thing? I'm asking because after rescaping I found some areas that I'd like to add something to but for one reason or another, it doesn't get the best lighting. Any ideas? Thanks!
  9. Weld-On is definitely the way to go IMO
  10. Koralias and specimen container picked up. Thanks man.
  11. PM sent regarding the Koralias as I mentioned above. Could pick up tonight. Would love the refractometer as well since I do not have one but I guess I'd be third in line behind Jan and Coral
  12. I know this thread is old but figured I'd chime in. I'm currently running (2) Kessil a150w's in the 15,000k Ocean Blue. I absolutely love them. Quiet, Cool, Plenty bright, and absolutely make the corals pop. The only problem with the 150's is that you have no control over intensity, which doesn't bother me too much. If anyone is looking into these, I have a 10,000k available. Also, if any of you Marylanders want to see them in action, Congressional just switched over, and you're more then welcome to check out mine. Long story short, I'm a fan.
  13. What's film?
  14. As suspected, I can change the white balance however it still looks pretty crappy. Soon it'll be time to get a real camera, only problem is that any money spent on a camera = less money for coral and fish :(
  15. I do believe I can change it. I'll check when I get home. Thanks!
  16. I currently have them in an area that I would not be too concerned with growth wise. I have a single small rock (maybe 4"x4"x4") separate from the rest of the rock work in the front of my tank that has the GSP. My thoughts were to allow this rock to overgrow with GSP. Unfortunately I can't get a camera to take a decent pic of the tank but as soon as I do I'll post one. Thanks guys (and gal)!
  17. Recently, I've been attempting to take some full tank shots and random assorted pictures with my crappy canon powershot. Unfortunately, the blue from my Kessil a150w's dominates the pictures and everything looks super dark. Is there anyway to take better pictures until I actually get a decent camera?
  18. Cool. Thanks! Now, when I rescaped my tank today my Anemone ended up on the backside of my bridge. Can I move him? Or should I just leave him be?
  19. Right now pretty much everything except the Xenia and Anemone are down low and have been there for almost a week or more. I guess my question would be, should any of the corals I listed stay low? Which should go higher? Which should be in the middle? Here is my original plan: Lobo- Floor Frogspawn- Low Superman Monti- Middle Grinch Monti- Middle Green Birdsnest- High GSP- Middle Trumpets- Middle Xenia- Middle Anemone- Middle (or wherever he ends up) Zoas- Low, Middle, High Dragon Soul Favia- Middle Also, should any of these be in low flow?
  20. I've been doing a ton of reading regarding the proper placement of certain corals and seem to find different answers all over the place. So WAMAS, what's your opinion on the placement of the following corals when it comes to lighting and flow. I'm running two Kessil a150w 15,000k's about 5" from the water surface. Lobo Frogspawn Superman Monti Grinch Monti Green Birdsnest GSP Trumpets Xenia Anemone Zoas Dragon Soul Favia Thanks in advance!
  21. I'm right down 270 from frederick. If you need more help than already offered, let me know. I was actually just up at Rick's this afternoon.
  22. Congrats!
