thanks guys. so i was missing the power cable which powers the fans and moon lights and after looking at hlem's setup at frag fest i decided to splice the fans tothe blue cree lights. now whenever the blue lights are on, the fans kick in. next, replacing the burnt out blue led with a new one and adding three more blues to give it a 15-20k look.

kind of hard to see the fittings, but to me it looks like you have female couplings on there which may not work with the re-charge kits for cars and may require a adapter.

just curious, why freshwater dip? I believe fish are more likely to get diseases when stressed. stress from the1 catching the fish 2 transporting of the fish. if those were my fish, i would just acclimate and have it go in the tank. also, is this going to be done in 1 day?

I got my recharge kit from Walmart for my car. it comes with oil and freon in the can and a pressure gauge as well so that you dont over fill it. Just make sure there isnt a leak in your system before trying to recharge it. i did not evacuate before re-charge and it worked fine for me.

my tank after frag fest. thank you wamas. so i read some thread on how to aquascape a tank and tried to redo my scape and realized i have too many different types of rocks to get the same as the how to articles. another thing i have to work on. i learned a good thing i did with the scape was putting the bigger heavier rocks on top of smaller pieces, bad news is there is a lot of small pieces at the bottom which may cause some dead space.

I think it depends on the type of corals. when i first started sw, the guy i bought the tank from said salinity should be at 20ppt. thats what i had it at for about two weeks until i done more research. at the time i only had pest corals and they were thriving. brittle stars also made it.

sps frag turning white at the base. guess I am not ready for sps yet. also need to invest in magnesium tester.

I have a hob fuge on my 24 gallon cube. I have high flow going through it and good lighting for it and the chaeto needs to be harvested on a weekly basis. You probably just need to see if it is the flow or the light that is causing your chaeto to die.
