when my tank was up and running, i had it operating opposite main lights. main light on 7 hrs, fuge light on 17 hrs.

you probably dont need one if you are doing a fowlr tank.

never seen deep blue tanks at the petco i go to.

you can probably use your canister filter, but i dont think you can fit many rubbles in there.

what are you trying to keep in the 55?

When I had the sock on, I had no pods. After I took the socks off I suddenly had pods everywhere. The critters seems to like the crud that settled on the bottom of my refugium. Pods were fairly large in there as well and seem to be eating something from the fuge. Pods in the display tank are so much smaller for some reason.

I thought you had a filter sock for your sump?

good point smallreef. i havent started on the build yet. just looking for ideas on how to do it so i dont cause a flood. i will probably pick up one of those u tubes since i dont know if my tank is drillable.

i ordered a eheim 1048 and going to purchase a cpr cs50. i need ideas on the plumbing. i will be using a 10 gallon refugium and the display will be a 24 gallon cube. i planned on using 1/2 inch vinyl tubing and was wondering if i need a check valve or something to prevent siphon on return side if the power goes out. not sure what else i need. any input on layout and needed components is appreciated.
