  1. yea, pretty sure I read somewhere that the 3000 cannot be ran external, it will leak right out the back
  2. I need to redo my screen top on my 75, as it used to be tight on all the edges and now with the feeder it sticks up on the one side (nothing too major) I drop it through the screen just fine
  3. It's not whisper quiet by any means, but compared to 2 of the others I've owned this thing makes no noise at all lol. For some reason manufacturers of automatic fish feeders decided they all must run at least 80db
  4. what brand tank is the 90g, you can generally find out if the glass is tempered on the manufacturer's site or through a google search, but you can also check with a smart phone and some polarized glasses I believe it is. Drilling it will be way more fool proof then a hang on the back overflow and would be my preferred method, and as for installing baffles in the sump that's the easy part, just some aquarium safe silicone and get a glass shop to cut a few baffles and glue them in, nothing to drill down there. I'm down in your home area almost every day for work, so if you need help with something early in the afternoon I can generally lend a hand.
  5. oh I hold no fault on the shark at all. I guess I should have put crazy! shark vs. diver lol. Anybody that wants to fault the animal when you're in it's domain is stupid. That's like falling into a pit of snakes and stepping on them and being mad one bit you, or angry that the bear took you out because you were walking around with a raw steak on your back. It's the natural order of things
  6. http://msnvideo.msn.com/?channelindex=2&from=en-us_msnhp#/video/376fff2d-fd9a-4100-af42-1c0044dae222 wowzers
  7. I've been trying alot and still haven't gotten through :(
  8. I haven't used the steve's LED's drivers, but I can tell you that if you change your mind and decide to go with meanwell LDD drivers they do 0-100% with a pwm signal I don't even have my power supplies plugged into the apex because i turn them off completely with the 0-10 analog signal (converted to pwm that is)
  9. yea no kidding, they were just looking for a meal... people all have that jaded 'orcas be so friendly' thing in they're head... when in reality they're probably the most lethal killing machines in the ocean. I'd rather have a single shark chasing me then a pack of orcas
  10. I can't really commit as that day is my other clubs frag fest, but it's not that far away. depending what time you're going to be there I could give a hand loading it, but I'd have some fresh corals so couldn't follow you all the way back to help unload it
  11. I only hope for your sake that everything stays healthy enough that you don't get an outbreak... I personally have not been that lucky in the past with a 75g
  12. In the display right now just those 4, but I have 7 total. I may keep the super bright green one with the blue streaks instead of auctioning it, but another one is identical to that bottom one (with the stripes) and then I have another pinkish/reddish one as well too with a mainly green oral disc with red streaks through it, couldn't get good pictures of those though but yes, that purple/pink/white is my favorite by far lol
  13. If you can find a spot to partially shade it you would definitely be fine. If it wants to move ever so slightly towards some light then it will BTW the one in the container with the mesh over it is a new one that I was getting attached to some rubble, there's also 2 more in there with it that I couldn't get a decent shot from this angle
  14. funny you say that, i had made a whole bunch of them that way but they all perished in a tank crash lol
  15. and they don't have a powerhead fascination either
  16. I got 3 ultra rock's that I'm contemplating auctioning off... one green.. one red and one white with a really really cool oral disc pattern
  17. Where are you located at? I have a friend that would definitely be interested in the whole setup at that price
  18. It's fully dependent on what lighting you run... My LED light, with everything focused in the spectrums they wanted previously, absolutely cooked stuff while only measuring 200 par. I haven't gotten the par meter in our club yet to see where I'm sitting at now, but I've since dropped my DIY led fixture all the way down to 40% and it's the only way I can keep from killing stuff with too much light
  19. There's one company already doing this kind of. I wanna say it's quality marine, they ship their fish with a QR code sticker, and you can scan the QR code and it tells you all about the collection details and who collected it edit: had to go searching http://www.qualitymarine.com/News/Company-News/Breaking-News--Quality-Marine-QR-Code-Tags-%2812/17/11%29
  20. I'm not 100%, but I'm fairly certain they're hydroids
  21. you got it, though invert/coral setup doesn't stay up all the time, 20L i use for fish is always up and running whether something is in it or not I lost my entire tank to velvet many many moons ago.. I will not go through it again. I've probably lost more fish getting stressed out from a bare QT tank or when I'm doing tank transfer then had diseases but I'd rather not take the chance
  22. I pump water from DT to the QT, and pump water from the QT down the drain
  23. No acclimation at all. My qt is fed from my display tank and I change it frequently, just scoop, quick fresh saltwater rinse and in they go Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
