Jan, I was just testing the water temp in that tank, and I knocked over a frag so I was just putting it back where it was......jeeez !

Tom, The light I saw over the chair was a 400 watter and it was only about 8" above the chair, so I'm thinking it would be a bit warm. I asked Steve V what was with all the water, the 6 car batteries hooked in series and the jumper cables for by that chair and he just winked and said " I hope you never find out" , smiled and walked away........to this day, I dont go back in that room.

I have left 2 msg's for MRC....thier customer service.....well lets just say, leaves alot of room for improvement!

I am usign a PH controller (apex) and the effulent will stay steady for about 1hr after setting it....For examle I set it Tuesday night at 9pm and Wednesday morning it was 1/2 of what I set it at...doesnt surge, just tappers off. Thanks for any suggestions.

How many fixtures do you have to hang...just the one? If so, you will need 2 of those hangers, 1 for each end. Your correct on how to mount them also...I like using toggle bolts on the ceiling or If you get luck and hit a stud your golden, but the chances of that are pretty slim. If you dont have the nice hidden end that goes up on the ceiling then just use a hook up there and either attach the eye from the wire directly onto the hook.

I'm not questioning the accuracy...I was asking for OPINIONS on most the most acurate and ease of reading. You are correct Tom, unless your comparing to a" known", it's impossible to determine the accuracy of any measuring device. I can only speak for my results....If I check it within 4 minutes of the prior test, back to back, sometimes I get a different reading...not every time, but sometimes. I have since been told to try to clean the vial (outside) with rubbing acohol prior to using it, to ensure that it is as clean as possible.

My made up salt mix (still at 1.020) is 0.05. My ro/di was 0.05... so I dont think the Reef Crystals are adding any phos.

Thanks Matt...My rock is about a year and a half old. What does your ro/di straight out of the hose read as far as Phosphate? Mine was like0.05. I'm actually going to test my made up salt water now...
