Matt, I am currently running 48" Reefbrights (2) on my 300 tank if you want to stop by and see them. I really like the look of them, they do give me a little bit of the pop your talking about, you can be the judge...the mounting is simple and the color is nice.

I had a problem in my 90, I would guess I had 35-40 aptaisia....I put in 10 Peppermint shrimp and within 2 months they knocked it down to approx 7-8. Of course, that was right before I sold that system. Bubble algae was my downfall for that tank!

The only thing I can think of is I'm not rinsing aggressive enough....long enough, just not with the valve opened up as much to really get that "tumble up from the bottom"
