  1. Glad to hear of action and time to make it happen!
  2. bottom of sump getting trimmed up...then euro/top gets put on!
  3. was worried about the ext8000 being too much skimmer with the rollermat and not having enough to run or keep a foam head. spoke to royal xclusive folks spoke to CV industries spoke to reef octopus spoke to MRC who makes the roller (infinity) all seemed to agree I needed to go about 1/2 the size I would typically even with the system size and the large fish load I plan for for the skimmer to work well due to the mrc infinity pulling waste at real time before it breaks down is not going to leave much for the skimmer SO... i hadn't opened the 8000 yet and exchanged it for the 6000. at a loss of a few shipping dollars to ship the 8000 back, I now hopefully have a much better solution
  4. some plumbing making it's way in... beefy 2" is going to be fun plumbing...
  5. titanium screws are on the way for the sump - they are working on the euro brace/top now to the sump.
  6. I will try to get some updated photos up for you
  7. You cannot. reef brite has their reputation and standing apart from other products because of their optics and spectrum. No one has been able to match their offering and the optics are simply amazing and why such a rather simple solution had been industry standard for many, i would argue for more in the aquaculture/business side than consumer level. you can compare spectrum graphs in a brs video a while back. i will post it up if I can find it. remember that the graphs are rations of light spectrum not more of this and none of that.
  8. it is a kit by reef brite... Quad Strip LED Hybrid Kit - Reef Brite https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/48-x-series-quad-strip-led-add-on-kit-reef-brite.html
  9. thanks. will need to figure out wire management above tank with all these wires... driving me nuts.
  10. Working on lighting… was hoping to fit four xr30 blue g5s per hanging fixture but looks like only three will work per fixture. this is one of two fixtures. will run the six radions and eight xho strips for now until corals demand more and will figure out something
  11. How many DOS units do you have or wish you had and for what purposes?
  12. That got a genuine LOL from me just now. Thank you much!
  13. more sump progress...goodness this thing is beautiful...
  14. starting to lay out the wire management wall...
  15. does anyone have a system that is very well integrated with neptune products and have a list of all the neptune products in use on their system they could share? I need to buy a whole new system and peripherals of neptune gear as I gave away, sold, donated all I had in the last two years and don't want to just go willy nilly buying everything but know I will miss some awesome efficiencies and uses if I can't review how this stuff is used outside of the main components. Thank you!
  16. thank you for all the updates! congrats on the second kid and hope you have a good sleeper so you can put some more time into getting through some of these hurdles. thank you for sharing them and how you work through them!
  17. I think so. right around 160 gallons or so. i wanted space for working around and volume.
  18. Thank you so much. Really appreciate it!
  19. custom sump is cut and going together....
  20. because it's pretty darn serious. got to get plumbing going already. working on filtration room now. working on panels for equipment and deciding how crazy I want to get. the more fun I can make the set up the more likely I am to want to do it. but that means $texas. we shall see. more photos coming soon.
  21. Thank you for checking in, Scott! I think I have all my bases above covered except for the sand bed. I kind of wish I had done something like that to be able to keep all the high flow with a majority of the sand bed in epoxy and small areas shielded by structures sans epoxy for the wrasses. I worried that my wrasses in the larger footprint might not find it before doing too much damage to their mouths and secondary bacterial/physical damage and worry about sufficient surface area for the nitrifiers but who knows. too late for me any way as everything is wet and cycled haha!
  22. ok, will definitely keep it in mind - thank you!
