ok the only other wayi know is old over flow box drill a bunch of holes and fill with crushed coral other than that i got no idea

if you dont want to use bio balls you could use shells or crushed up coral would work anything to hold mangrove in place tell the roots so through the pot and you should get those at any petsmart or pond store

i use pond plant baskets and fill with old bio balls you can take 1/2 pvc pipe no need to glue and make hanger using 2 90 s just make sure the back pipe is long enough to support when the plant gets bigger and zip tie the baskets to them

great idea on the mag never thought of that..... tried cutting bottle top hole then cutting bottle few inches behind that put the top twords the bottom and zip tying the big ends togeather so once the fish enters it gets trapped but only cought the fish i didnt want this way and only placed on the bottom the mag might just work to place it closer to the dang fish i want ....plus i DONT have verry good WATING skills

lol have caught a few that way but the fish i want is DEEP in the rock base at night ... but thanks for the advice

i have a good bit of lime and iron also in 12 years hasnt caused much trouble even without an ro/di i used to just have an airstone in my mix barrel then i but a powerhead in and leave it JUST to keep my salt stired up good are u using an ro/di and still having issues ?or you dont have

? did u nuke them with AIPTASIA-X ?I have a LARG carpet and after 12 pprmint and 2 file fish nothing was making a dent in them. sooo i got some AIPTASIA-X and the guy at lfs (that i DONT trust) said i could use just not to get the AIPTASIA-X close 2 the other anems.I read the info on how to use and NOT one word about harming anems a have only done a few at a time and none close to my good anema and sucked the stuff up as best as i could before i turned the pumps back on,Aabout 3 days later my carpet COMPLETLEY barried itself in the sandI have NEVER had one do this. he is back up now and looks ok but was wondering if it was the AIPTASIA-X not sure i wil use it anymore
