  1. The one I got from BRK ate Dainichi Marine FX Baby Pellet Fish Food, that I also got at BRK. Once the pellets hit the sand he would come along a few minutes later when they softened up a little and suck them up with a mouth full of sand and filter them out. Also, if your tank is well established he will sift mouthfulls of sand for anything it finds edible.

  4. How about something demonstrating or tracking the stages of the nitrogen cycle? What happens in each stage and how we can tell when it's done.

  6. Used to be a place in annandale, right behind the popeye's called SuperPets or something like that. Not sure if they are still open or not, haven't been there in a few years, but they used to have stuff like that. Go in the doors and make a right, all the way on the back wall they had airstones, bubblewands, and diffusers hanging on the wall over the shelf full of pumps.
  7. There should be no need to use any silicone as long as the surfaces are clean as stated by wvreef, make sure the gasket is on the inside of the tank and only tighten hand tight plus a quarter turn with a wrench, any more and you risk deforming the rubber gasket and it wont seal effectively. Good luck
  8. personally 18" is the smallest I'll ever go again, I prefer at least 24" to allow for better rock formations that allow you to create flow all the way around them instead the "wall" that limits flow to straigh across the front of the display. My 90 is 18" and I was able to stack the rocks in the center and off the walls all the way around but it's still a tighter squeeze than I care for so I got a 180 and you would be amazed at how much difference that 6" can make Plus the 180 is actually not as tall as the 90 making maintenance on the bottom a lot easier with my short azz arms :P
  9. A Big THANK YOU! To all the sponsors as well as everyone that volunteered time and Donations/Supplies to make this another Awesome and Succesful WAMAS event! As always I met some more great people and made some great deals/trades and received some great frags that are sure to improve my tanks!
  10. For your clean up crew check here - Reefcleaners.org At the top of the table select the tab for crews with or without hermits, then match to the size of your system.... John will take good care of you from there. Even with overnight shipping you can't beat the prices and john always puts extra in the order!
  11. Mine grows like a weed under a 26watt (125W equivilant) 6500k cfl bulb in a clip on reflector both from HD for less than $15 total. I have a combination of chateo, grape caulerpa and 3 Mangroves all growing under the same light. (been there for 3 years now)

  13. Any chance there is a pic of these clowns?
  14. If your going to do that strip out the old silicone first, the new won't bond well to the old silicone and will eventually peel off.
  15. I was considering trying that spray on liquid rubber from the late nite infomercials - it shouldn't be affected by either the salt or humidity.

  21. I would offer to help but I will be in Connecticut for most of that same time period. Keep me in mind in the future though, I work in Alexandria near the corner of North Beauregard and Seminary rd.
  22. I use one of those $6 clip on reflectors you get at home depot with a 14W 6700k cfl bulb(125 watt equivilent) in it. I leave it on 24/7 and it grows 3 mangroves and a fuge full of chateo with no problems. In fact the mangroves are getting too tall to stay in my sump much longer!
