I set up a HOB refugium on my 20 gallon today, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what i may want to put in it? ( been a few years sense i used a refugium, it has been in storage till earlier this week ) I put a layer of sand, some algaes i had and a little wall of live rock. Anything else? I put a little light which i am planning on upgrading next time i go to my storage unit.

Ask Rob he might be able to help you more he is really into the DSB i usually do the opposite and have very little sand but i am going to set up a new tank in the next week with a DSB and see if there is a difference to me.

I am looking to set up another tank at my house with t-5 lighting and i am finding it hard to get what i would like. I want a t-5 with 4 bulbs ( Will be the 22 inch bulbs ) 30" fixture long for my 30 gallon. I can find a t-5 30" online with 2 bulbs for like 60.00 . I was wondering if anyone could help me find what im lookng for or better yet happen to have im looking for and maybe looking to get rid of it.. Also with 4 bulbs any suggestions of which bulb types and such i should get thinking of trying to do some hard corals and such

I think you and Justin are the only two with things to sell. The rest of us have nothing laying around(in my closet) or in storage units (like myself) lol

They have a cool tank in there store in MD as well

they like to hide alot and sometimes you may not see them for a day or two.

nice i picked up some live rock ( happens to have some polyps on it ) and a colony myself last week.

its a standard 20 long, with 2 2 two t-5 ballasts ( 4 bulbs total ) clarity of the water is good and i couldn't tell you how old one set of the bulbs are cause i got it in a trade, the other are about a year.

I have a two 2 bulb t-5 fixtures (for a total of 4 bulbs)and i noticed today that one of the bulbs is going out and another one will probably need a change soon as well. I ordered new ones today online and should be here in the next few days. In the mean time sense it is about to go out and failing anyways, should i just take it out or just keep using it till i get the new one. I have heard that once the bulbs get "old" they change spectrum and can encourage algae growth. I was thinking of getting into some hard corals, T-5 good enough or no? MH aren't an optioon right now.
