  6. thanks for all the input guys, yes i am sticking with this tank for a while, wish i had the room and could afford a big tank but this will do for a few years. I have kalk from kent that i can use, ill look into buying a dosing pump, that sounds like the best route.

  8. never heard of that one but i was using Kent magnesium when i was having a small bryopsis problem but i have since stopped dosing it.
  9. any one reccomend a good product to dose? i was thinking the liquid reef by brightwell.
  10. thanks Bob, i will test tonight and see what the readings are, but normaly the calcium stays at 400 but i did put kalk to my top off water a few months back and the corals had a groth spurr but then i think calcium got too high and i stoped it.
  11. sounds like its going to be a nice nano, cant wait to see what it looks like. Keep us update.
  12. i am still new to this and was wondering if someone could shed some light as to weather it would be better for me to dose or to install a small calcium reactor to my set up. I have a 34 gallon solana tank with mainly LPS but have a few SPS and will probably get a few more. thanks for any help
  13. Im not sure which ones they are jan but they are really nice. I got them from blaze a few months back and they have not stoped growing since. same with some rose nebulas that are next to them, that must be the sweet spot in my tank lol.
  14. just a few shots my blue your my boy chalice
  15. Yes unfortunately i have had a few jumpers, mainly my clown fish were the jumpers, i managed to save them once but i was not around the second time and one yasha goby . All my other fish are doing fine with out a top. Did your fish jump out?
  16. Those last few pictures were nice Niki, just play with the settings, youll get moer confortable the more you shoot and play. Those fish are really nice.
  17. Some recent shots
  18. were you able to find the proper settings to take some sick pictures.
  19. Niki, are you using a tripod? if not i would suggest getting one, i got a cheap 20 dollar one at ritz and works really good. Also as far as settings go use manual settings, play with the iso, normally when shotting bottom of the tank i need a higher iso and when shotting closer to the light lower iso, also the esposure, you may need to set a longer exposure or lower, i for got my current settings but when i get home i cam post them up for you. What camera are you using? On a cool note, i just figured out that a coral sold to me as a miamy hurricane is actually an emerald mummy eye . its getting a nice emerald color around the eyes and blueish around the edge.
  20. great video
  21. that is a nice tank, love the size too. So no sump just a skimmer, water changes and 2 part?
  22. Hey Niki, as long as you have the splash guard you should be ok untill you can hang it but dont keep it there too long. This fixture is awesome for sure, im glad im not the only one who thinks it LOL, the corals pop for sure.
  23. finally got my piece of the pie, the BGM pie but its super tiny, hope it grows fast.
