  2. Day 2... So far I have about 14 hours into this thing. Growing some legs.... Adding some center support Just need to add some angle bracing and the skeleton will be done!
  3. Starting out with a big pile of lumber... After some cuts..... Starting to make some shapes.... Pocket Holes are your friend!!!! Stay tuned more to come
  4. That is a great picture!! Help me out alot! Thanks Bob
  5. Yeah it will be going on a ground level floor so weight isn't an issue. I see what you guys are saying... sorta lol. Anyway I could get that in an isometric view?
  6. Here is some sketches I did.... The stand is gonna be longer than the tank just so I have space for tests, fragging, whatever..... The side will have a hidden panel for all my electronics/plugs/wires,etc....
  7. Saturday morning I am heading over to Home Depot to get my supplies and build my stand. Anybody with experience want to lend a hand? H-E-double hockey sticks I wouldn't mind just having sombody to talk to while I build the darn thing... LOL I live in Warrenton, VA Seriously though if somebody does help me out I'll take you over to BRK that afternoon and buy them a coral for helping You can either post up or just shoot me a PM Thanks Chris
  8. Ok the more and more I read about this, BB is def. the way to go!! I was skeptic at first but the advantages of a BB tank just outway the negative by a ton! Check out some threads if your also curious..... http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/f164/?order=desc
  9. The rock will be base rock from BRS so there will not be any bacteria. I plan on just doing the raw shrimp cycle.
  10. Well I plan on running a DSB in my fuge. If you run a BB, how long would it take for a new tank to cycle? Also as far as a CUC, thats pretty much out of the question yes? Well except for maybe hermit crabs for hair algae, but as far as snails, not having any type of SB in your DT what will they eat and there purpose?
  11. Now I know one of the perks of having a bare botom is ease of clean, but what else are we talking about here? A read on another forum that a sand bed needs to be atleast 4-6+ inches for it to even work, if not then its going to backfire and *@ all over your system with Nitrites/Trates? Who here has a sandbed 6 inches deep.... If you have any kind of flow, how can you keep it 6" all the way across?? I've never had a BB tank before. To me I never thought they looked good. Plus doesn't it take WAY LONGER for your tank to mature? I can see if all your doin is growing and fraggin coral then sure, why not run a BB? But as a display tank, I thought the idea was to replicate what a real ocean floor looks like? I dunno.... I think I know something after a long while, then I read a thread and I feel like I dont know *@ all over again.
  12. I already have the tank. It was a gift from my wife for Christmas. I told Jeff def. gonna get a rimless from him in the future with what you guys are talking about. I am addicted now and can't stop.. Hahah
  13. Just picked up a 30 Gallon Sump from NAGA. Excellent in every way! Exactly what I asked for and you could not beat the price hands down!!!! I am definitely going to be going back to him ANY time I want another tank be it a small frag or a lage display. Thanks again Jeff! -Chris
  14. Really nice setup man!
  15. There was so many times I wish I had "extra" room on tanks I had before.... Thats why I am doing my own stand this time!
  16. Well I am getting ready to start my 90 Gallon build. I downloaded that Google Sketchup and have been doing some beginging designs. I will be building my own stand because I want something big and custom with secret compartments for my electronics and stuff, pluss one side will be eventually for propagation. Anyways have a look and let me know what you guys think It is still a work in progress as I am still learning the software..... Custom NAGA 30 Gallon Sump & MR2 Protein Skimmer Closeup of the secret compartment which will house my electronics.
  17. Hey Johnny, I was planning on stopping by Tomorrow or Saturday because I also wanted to get some bulbs for it and wasn't sure which way to go until I talked to you about it. Plus its been awhile since I've been there
  18. So $800 for the new Ice Cap 4' MH/T5 Fixture w/ LED Arrays?? Oh man I dont think I can pass that up! I've heard nothing but good about these lights.
  19. God D*&m that is nice looking!!! It took a day really???
  20. How did this turn out?
  21. That is amazing!! WOW
  22. LOL.... Ahhhh Super Petz. Theres like 3 people who work there, most of them young. There usually so busy running around or taking smoke breaks or lunch breaks I am willing to bet I could load a 100+ Gallon Tank and walk right out of that place and they would never even notice! It is a complete joke. And I feel so bad for that big shark in that glass tank up the front... It looks like he just sleeps in the tunnel waiting to be put out of his missory.
