  1. I tried glueing 3/4 pvc coupler to the outside magnet, tested it a little in a bath tab on the highest setting and it seems to hold.
  2. Any idea where to get those custom pvc/plastic mounts? I have no problem drilling the eurobrace, i believe it will look nicer that way.
  3. Yes I know I was testing it with wp-10 on the frag tank lol.
  4. I was thinking about glueing it to 3/4 PVC and placing 4 bulkheads on the top. I tried using PVC cement but it didn't hold.
  5. I got 4 jebao power heads 2 wp-40 and 2 wp-60. I am unable to use the magnet on the side panels because they are not strong enough. I found out that I could mount them to the top bracing and I actually like how it looks. The new issue is that the pump would sit right at the water level and maybe aninch or so above... So I need some creative way of bringing it like 2-3" inches down. Ideas anyone?
  6. haha good one that one is for sale, by the way tank is almost full
  7. Some pictures of the frags i got yesterday: Full tank shot (fuge)
  8. I was working on the tank and had it turned off, within minutes that little guy who is a lot bigger now was inside the power head grazing on algae
  9. I do have one problem with the Jebao WP-40 pumps, since i got the back acrylic in the bad and right side, I am unable to keep the magnet connected.... does anyone have any ideas on how to solve that issue? can I order stronger magnets to put on the back? are magnets reef safe?
  10. I really underestimated the plumbing part of the aquarium/system when I started. I lost track of how much money I spent on all the fitting/gate valves/ball valves/check valves over the past 3 months. but i am glad it's all over now. It's been like a huge puzzle and i don't know if i'll it's even possible to plan such a system with one purchase.
  11. I first used dry sand paper started from 1500 grid and went up to 12000 grid (i think), i used it dry but i understand next time (hopefully won't be next time) it's better to use wet sand paper, once i done with the sanding i used the Novus products to try to buff out the very fine scratches. but the power buffer really helped the second time around, first i used Novus #2 for fine scratches, polished it for some time until the thing dried out. cleaned it out with some water and microfiber towl. then i used Novus number 1 to fine polish everything. once done I used another microfiber towel to clean up everything and walla, almost like new I also used a little alcohol to clean out the polish paste just in case it's not safe for reef.... and tomorrow i'll start filling up that bad boy! making 50 gallons per day... might take me a good week to finish filling it up. I did pick up some corals today (for the fuge) picked up a xenia frag from ExoticReefCreations while i picked up the power heads. picked up one leather coral and one small toadstool from flooddc which by the way have a very nice system going on he also gave me some live sand and some cheto thanks Chuck! I'll post some pictures tomorrow once they are fully acclimated.
  12. Thank you guys, I just finished buffing the aquarium, it worked so well so I also buffed the outside looks just like new. I am really glad I went wth acrylic for the tank, I doubt that I would have been able to get those scratches out from glass
  13. Yea those pumps are pretty good, they keep on getting better, I got one DC6000 for my mixing tank and one DC12000 for the main return on my system. To my surprise you can also control the intensity of the speed on the new version of WP power heads.
  14. Yea i know! and it was also a very stupid move on my end, didn't watch myself... could have easily prevented it!!! I've been using the Novus 1 + 2 + 3 as the polishing compound so far.
  15. Hi Adam thank you for the great info. That's where I am now, scratches are invisible got some haze in panel
  16. Awesome. Great info! Going to run to Home Depot first, maybe buffing is all I need since I already sanded the heck out of these scratches
  17. something like that would be better over the buffing/polishing wheels? http://www.amazon.com/WEN-6010-6-Inch-Waxer-Polisher/dp/B0000AXOHT/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1397057407&sr=8-16&keywords=buffer#productDetails
  18. Wow, seems so much easier! i've been doing it manually, worked on it for about an hour and a half probably, and one side is fairly good, but the other side is still a bit hazy, I might head over to Home depot to get that sand paper for the palm sander and try again. I'll most likely have to order the buffing wheels. Thanks again for the great video!
  19. I got that kit from amazon, it comes with several sand papers ranging from grit 1500 to 18000 i think, i did it dry. Would i get better results wet sanding?
  20. So glad i came across this thread
