  1. Acrylic scratches.... it takes a bit of elbow grease but it's possible to remove scratches. easier when the tank is empty
  2. I am trying to optimize the flow throughout my system. I have a 50g refugium, which is connected to the display tank (270), sump (40-80) and a frag tank (30). What should be the idea turnover rate for the refugium based on the size of this system? would 2x or 3x be enough? I don't have a lot of growth in there, the refugium is pretty much used as a food source, and some softies..
  3. Yep have this one too, just a pain to do it under 25-30” of water Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yea kind of surprising there is so little on each pad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yep a bit pricey but if the quality is good it may be worth getting it. I’ve probably spend much more than 200 over the years on crappy magnets Have you tried the scratch kit? It is any good? The large types of pads and accessories is another reason why I am leaning toward buying it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Might be worth calling their support, It happened to me when i first got the unit (after updating it), ended up being defective.
  7. Has anyone used those? any feedback? I am thinking of replacing my tiger float with the FF-3 (acrylic 3/4" panels)
  8. This morning the foam is pretty much gone, seems like the activated carbon took care of it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That's a great idea I will try it out tomorrow morning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. There's a little bit of foam in the overflow... it's pretty much where there is strong flow with air Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The foam will come back. I think one of the filter socks came in contact with a little bit of soap. I should have probably have removed the filter sock [emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hey all, Someone some laundry soap made it's way to one of my felt filter socks. Nothing died, but a lot of foam everywhere, so I had to turn off the skimmer. Right now I run carbon, and already changed 40g yesterday (around 300g system). Is there anything else I should be at this stage? or just let the activate carbon do it's thing?
  13. Yep they grew like weed in there. Faster than the cheato Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for the info Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Would 2" be considered a DSB? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hey all. I had to empty my refugium, frag tank and sump a week and a half ago to complete some plumbing work and replace dry wall Now that is over and it's time to put everything back in. The sand I took out was really nasty. And I was wondering if anyone runs a refugium without sand in it? And what was your experience like. It's a 55g refugium. With a lot of live rock Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I've had bunch of issues with my 150. Went through 2 sets of blades already in less then 5 months. I think part of it was my fault since when I was cleaning the unit which you must do often I didn't properly align the shaft with the marking on the blade very easy to miss.
  18. Awesome thanks will try the front and back combination in the next couple of weeks. I might need to reconfigure the LEDs a little. Might take one of them out
  19. Thanks Isaac, took a while to find that post but I I did at the end. Do you think one 60" bulb would be enough to to cover the length of a 84" tank? Was thinking to do one in the back and front. Or maybe 3-4 24" ones in between the radion fixtures
  20. I am running 5 DIYs radions 3 fixtures over my 7' tank. BRS sent this video today which ignited a little bit of interest in T5, and I was thinking that it might be a good idea to add few t5 tubes to the setup. Does anyone here have experience mixing the two type of lights? One of the things I love about the LED pucks is that it causes a very nice shimmering effect in the tank, I do not like the heavy shadows tho. Would love to hear about what people here have experienced and any tips for retrofitting. Thanks1
  21. Cool thanks! I think I got one of those when I just got the first cleanup crew, he was around 1/2 an in he then and didn't have any interesting colors. He must be at least 1.5-2 inches now. Too bad he hangs out in a part that is not visible from the front
  22. Could it be the abalone I got several months ago?
  23. I found this thing while cleaning my aquarium today. It's hard to the touch and almost impossible to pry off
