  1. just wrote a paper on ocean acidification......one thing it doesnt say in this one is a 0.2 change in pH (as we know is no good for your corals) well there has already been a 0.1 reduction in ocean pH and even with emission caps being put in place many are sure that we willl reach a point of 0.35 drop in pH. And the other thing it doesn't say is nobody has any real clue at all what is going to happen to ocean because over 80% of research on global climate concerns are terrestrial or atmospheric. Just my 2c on alll this. scary stuff to think about.
  2. It sounds like nobody has ever seen the killing just the eating.....isn't that what all of them are in there for, to clean up everything that may sink or die in our tanks?
  3. There are some Zoas underneat the big one that my GF would like to expose. Maybe I can convince her we should slice and dice!
  4. I have a 65 LOTS of LR and hiding places for all my inverts.
  5. I have 3 emerald, some hermits, a pom pom, sally lightfoot and an arrow! Non of them have messed with any of my fish and are all amazing to watch in their own ways! (sally light foot is the most aggressive) I don't know about the pom poms being lost as they are anems, but i feel like I saw mine without one once, and the next time it did.
  6. Like I said many new pics to update on. Here are just a few of them for now. Mr. Coral for their Black Friday sale this is the only picture i have of the fire shrimp, he never comes out few new shrooms! Okay all for now but I will post some pics after I get the tank cleaned up, dam cyano! I have put a bag of phosban in my sump to try and help absorb some of the nutrients, and I have been stepping up my H2O changes. So I hope I can get it under control, although for only 4 months I kinda expect to still be going through some problems.
  7. yeah the name was a new-bee mistake. And as you can see in the FTS they are at-least hanging out in front of it but not hosting yet.
  8. 4 Months!!!! I have many more pics to come but just an FTS for now.
  9. they eat everything, get one! i have never had any problems with fish, just a few other inverts!
  10. Link from another ich thread Just some reading, and scratch the egg-crate idea, the PVC hiding spots is a good idea though.
  11. i think for the amount of time you will need to treat them 12 should be ok, doesn't jason have anything bigger you could use? And as for treating the ich I was told that something along the lines of egg-crate along the bottom to help prevent reinfection as the fish rests on the bb. Also lots of H20 changes. Best wishes! Don't feel alone I have been reading about a few people battling ich, myself included!
  12. I would say to try and QT and treat, but I also know how hard it would be to catch them. I personally don't know of any reef safe ich meds. How old is the bulb in the UV? The new tang too? I hope they recover and do well.
  13. My favorite is the first sunset #11..... cold grey sky, sharp rocks, smooth water and a hot sunset. I love it.............I have a new desktop pic!
  14. got a hippo sailfin and sixline with a few spots on all. All are eating well and the spots are almost gone. Sixline has none and the hippo still has a few but all seem to be doing quite well.
  15. In the nano? Yeah the shrooms, and zoas might not like the same level as some sps
  16. The lawnmower didn't make it! all the other fish are now getting along. really all of them. the two clowns are venturing out more the six line is swimming ing in and out. the hippo is allowed to meander and the sail-fin get to move about as he would like. It is really nice to be able to si back and watch the fish just be fish. It was just a matter of getting rid of the 4 stripe. the yellow tail isn't that bad. still working on getting some great picks up and running.
  17. Very nice. I like the simple scaping. Pics are nice keep them coming, will be watching to see the progress.
  18. Anyone have this link I would like to read?
  19. So few updates. Have been able to catch the 4 stripe and banish him to the fuge, which gave the O. clowns some extra space and made room for the new fish additions from Mr. coral! We got a Juvie sailfin and hippo tang and a six line wrasse. We were also able to catch our emaciated lawnmower blenny and get him down in the fuge to see if he can get his grub on down there! I will post some pics and other stuff up when I get a few better shots and everything is settled!
  20. First time looking over this and it looks great. I am planning on doing towers myself on my next tank. I like the PB tang. Keep up the good work.
