Hello, The booster pump is installed in-line ahead of the entire unit. It has push-in fittings so basically, you cut the line from the supply to your water in and plug the unit in. Simple as that! The hardest part is actually getting the pressure set to what you want it to be. My warehouse guy has spent up to 2 hours on booster pumps trying to get them to boost the pressure. Keep on turning the Allen screw down if your pressure isn't at what you want it to be. If it is and it is still doing the intermittent on/off, try adjusting the chrome screw on the control valve. It should be tightened down all the way. Make sure that it is. If it is, then loosen it a little bit. Try adjusting the Allen screw while doing this as well. It does take a little tinkering to get it where you want it.

David, The white felt like filters is the 10 micron sediment filter. That will go first on the far right. Then comes the 5 micron carbon, then the one micron carbon. It's supposed to be the largest micron rating to the smallest. We do it this way to put the least amount of work on the DI. If you need anything else, just let us know!

Sometimes, the DI will exhaust faster than anythign else. Please check the RO only TDS reading as well. IF it's high, it could be the membrane is bad or somethign caused it to go bad (which we'll troubleshoot). If it's just the DI, then it might be bad resin or you're just going to go through resin quickly (again, we'll help troubleshoot the cause of this as well). Let us know when you get the chance. Hello Al, Normal production ratio is about 3-4 gallons of waste for every 1 gallon of pure water. Please make sure that all of the valve by the RO membrane are closed (perpendicular position). Make sure this includes the black flush valve as well. What's your pressure like? Water temperature? Both of these can create a problem like what you're having. If the water is about 40 degrees, the water production gets cut in half. If you have both a water pressure and temperature problem, well.....you're definitely not going to get the water production you want and too much waste water. Let me explain why we're doing this. The DI should remove all of the TDS from the water, even if it's for a short time. You can put tap water through the DI and get zero TDS (though the DI will exhaust rapidly). Since the DI has not done its job since the beginning; it sounds like the resin was bad to start off with. Hey, That's some really dirty tap water. I wonder what's in it. Glad to hear the unit is working good. Don't worry too much about the pre-filters; their job is to get dirty. Hello, Here is a description of the three adaptors: Supply Valve - This is a piercing valve which is placed (normally) underneath a sink and taps into a copper pipe or most other straight surface-type piping (non-braided). It clamps onto the pipe and you turn the valve down to pierce the pipe; then open it back up to get water flowing to your RO. Faucet Adaptor - This fits most faucets where there is a filter screen that is removable (i.e. the part where the water comes out of a normal sink faucet). This adaptor has a diverter valve that allows you to switch between normal faucet use or sending the water to the RO unit. Hose adaptor - This fits most garden hose-type connections. Simply screw it on, plug the tubing in, and turn on the water. Most people use this adaptor if they put their unit in the utility room (or where ever they have their washer). Another adaptor that isn't really a choice (you have to buy it) is the braided hose adaptor. This is used if your piping under the sink is a braided line instead of something solid. The supply valve can pierce braided lines, but then it pulls out the braid and clogs the supply valve. The braided hose adaptor is just screwed onto the supply line (normally a small line of copper pipe with a male thread on the end) and then the braided pipe is hooked onto it as well. Hello David, The TDS alarm's light might not come on until after the TDS gets to a high level (15 ppm after the DI). This is because we had the TDS alarm calibrated differently for us. You can do a simple test: Take the probe out and put it in a glass of tap water and turn the alarm on. If the red light comes on, then it's working properly. You're correct in this statement. Carbon block and GAC filters do break down the chloramine from the water, but ammonia is released as well. This is where catalytic carbon comes into play. It breaks down the chloramine without letting the ammonia escape. We normally have the catalytic carbon go before a carbon block filter to ensure that everything is removed. As long as you have a DI, though, ammonia isn't too much of a problem.
