The air trapped in the chambers is an easy fix. Simply turn your unit to the left while its making water, then to the right while its making water and the air will escape the chambers. But it will not cause your TDS to rise. TDS meters can go bad. That is why its always nice to have a back-up hand-held meter. If you think something might be off with your in-line meter the hand-held one is a good way to find out. The Fast Flush flow restrictors do not typically go bad. The only way they are "bad" is if the handle breaks or if something gets trapped inside them and you are unable to release whatever is clogging it.

The recommended way to store a membrane is to put it in a zip lock bag and store in the refrigerator. As long as NO water gets on it, it will store there for a few months!

The only difference between the Typhoon 5 Stage and the Typhoon III is the "bells and whistles" that come with the product. The Typhoon 5 has everything you need to make RODI water. The Typhoon III adds a DI bypass assembly, an RO only valve, a membrane fast flush valve and comes with an HM Digital hand-held TDS meter ($60 more in value) Please don't hesitate to contact us with any further questions!

Yes that is typically how the DI filter works. When you stop making RODI water and close off the RODI output, that will create back pressure into the unit causing the ASOV (automatic shutoff valve) to kick in and water will stop coimng into the unit. During this ASOV process, the DI filter will fill up and then will again drop down to being part full when you start making the RODI water again.
