  1. Appreciate it.... Thanks....Mike
  2. Want to make sure before I cause any problems that this one likes razor blades...:-) Thanks Mike
  3. When I had my 12 g aquapod set up..used loc line with the splitter, one was pointed towards the surface and one pointed towards the bottom. One the other side of the tank had a Koralia Nano, which you can adjust the direction on. Had really good flow.
  4. No problem...when I'll let you know when the green toadstool is ready for fragging. Good Luck...let me know how things acclimate.
  5. i don't have magnesium but have API tests for the rest....if interested just PM me. Mike
  6. I definitely like the candy cane (trumpet) neon green, looks great under the actinics. Just get one with a couple head and enjoy them growing. I would also recommend a hammer or frogspawn. Not sure if you like ricordeas, I have a few in my tanks and they add some nice colors. Mike
  7. Welcome Back...:-) 1. What brands are best? i had an aquapod 12g which i really enjoyed, currently have two 29g biocubes...i think both are good tanks. 2. What are the pros and cons? Pros it is All-in-One, there are so many modifications you can do...nano-reef.com has a lot of ideas Cons..some space limitations...learned this the first time...go with small frags to watch them grow 3. I had planned to go cold turkey out of the hobby, but this is killing me! Can I mount one now and still move it? Yes...much easier then moving a big tank...:-) 4. Could a blenny live in a 24g biocube? I have a canary blenny in one of my 29's so I say yes. 5. How well do these all-in-ones keep the parameters? Agree, with the earlier statement..as long as you maintain your maintenance, parameters will be fine. 6. What corals could I have? Advice, pls, friends? Depends on what lighting you go for...with just the stock lighting...some LPS, zoas, leathers 7. My goals would include keeping a couple of LPSs, a fish or two (I'd adore a Midas and ... something to keep it company... ideas?) and really that's about it. I think you will enjoy your date...and come back with an idea of what you want. If you do find one that you really like I would check some forums to see if there are any for sale. Good luck in your search. Mike
  8. Jamie....PM and email sent on refractometer... Thanks Mike
  9. Oh boy..there have been a few...but the worse had to be the bi-color psuedochromis. I knew they were aggressive but still had to have the purple/yellow fish for the kids. Basically made my neon goby want to spend time in the back filtration. Had to remove all my rock and corals to get him out and...thanks Chris for taking this one. Hope he is doing well by the way. Once the bi-color psuedo was gone the fish decide he could enjoy the main tank and jumped back into it. As for the kids..they are happy now with a yellow blenny, neon goby and a fire shrimp.
  10. i had a bicolor psuedochromis and it picked on everything. My thought is it will keep picking on your cardinal, they psuedochromis is an agressive fish. Will the LFS take it back?? Mike
  11. I plan on being there Mike

  13. Sorry for the bad experience...I am sure your next visit will be better. I have found Oz and everyone for that matter (for those I have spoken with) to be very helpful and knowledgeable. Oz was actually the first person I dealt with at BRK and he was extremely helpful in answering all my questions. I can't speak for what happened but I do not think that Oz would do anything that would jeopardize BRKs name or intentionally have you buy something you shouldn't. I have been to other stores in the area that have told it would be fine in your tank, I go home and do some research and find out I would have just been causing its slow demise. I have made my share of mistakes and will probably make a few more... :-( It is always a hard lesson to learn when you aren't talking about a $.99 neon tetra. Anyway, BRK and Oz keep up the good work... Thanks Mike
  14. Yeah, I changed mine aquascape a few times...you could always break the big piece if you want to. Once you are ready for some frags..let me know. Mike
  15. Looks good....got some nice rock, too. Glad to see you joined.
  16. Good Luck and shouldn't you be working...:-)
  17. I have used it to get my calcium raised, seems to have promoted some coralline growth as well. I got the calcium to an acceptable range and haven't added it to the 12g since then. I haven't noticed an increases in any other testing parameters. to the kernel...it isn't the roids...it is the love i give my corals...
  18. Thanks everyone...Troy sent PM Really appreciate. Thanks Mike
  19. No...went to Woodson
  20. Well...the easiest way to say it...I have some stuff that I need to frag and have never done it before. Was wondering if there is anyone who has done this before in the Haymarket area that wouldn't mind assisting with this. Whatever is fragged you can take home with you...:-) if you would like it. I have a finger leather, Xenia and some GSP that need to be cut back. Also, some mushroom rock that from what I have read you really just cut them. I am sure it is an easy process but would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through the first couple. I don't want to do anything incorrectly. If anyone is interested please let me know. Thanks, Mike
