  1. James, Keep in mind, in this hobby, the CHEAPEST item we usually get is the tank!
  2. BP, Sorry to hear of this type of news, we have all gone to this at some level and sorry to hear of yours! Let us know if anything we can do to help you get back up soon?? Howard
  3. Brian, Probably a little late, but a pretty cool store on Rt19 near Donaldson Crossroads off the Canonsburg Exit of I79, go East one mile to Rt 19, then North about 2 miles, will be on the right. ...yeah, I no, your lost?
  4. Gang, There is a lesson learned relating to our hobby here for livestock! (FWIW, if this wasn't on top of "View New Post", would have let it bury it self!) BUT, When your dealing with livestock, you have various levels of dealers/vendors that can help bring livestock 1000's of miles in a short time to allow us to populate our tanks with hopefully healthy livestock! The level of service that the owners of these establishments choose/gamble on is what will keep them in the business for more than a short time and frankly, pay the bills to keep the doors open! Internet vendors usually are buying right when they basically come off the boats and offer discounted prices and usually a refund to get you to place an order, BUT you NEVER know for sure what your getting until it shows up! Chain Stores (Petco, etc), are probably the next step up but YOU KNOW what you dealing with and though we all like the Mall Scenarios, a huge risk as well! WARRANTY ZERO! LFS aka, the mom and pop's are the backbone of the industry providing HANDS ON service and livestock that you can actually see what your getting! Though I've never seen one that offers a refund, at least most take the time to acclimate and treat and prep their wares before we the customers can come in and do SMART SHOPPING by watching the fish for while, see if its eating before we you take it with us and then DOING our best to acclimating them into our tanks! Lance, sorry you had a loss, I know your frustration, I've personally have lost propably over a $1000.00+++ worth of livestock with nothing but empty feelings and pocket book to show for it! IMO, BRK and his staff run an A++++ operation! One of the best in the area, let alone the country! Give them another chance!
  5. Mohsin, Finally catching up on some reading, first time I've been able to see some of these dedicated tank forum stuff, Tank looks AWESOME SIR! You getting Royalties from that Grey Seas Guy??? Glad to see the setup, you've come along way sir!
  6. Josh, Sorry to hear about your losses! Early pics where cool with the tank being new. Something just pretty cool about a new tank with everything so shiny and all! You guys must have X-Ray vision to see anything wrong with the clam early one, Took me 3x before I even spotted the little guy, very nice pictures later on! When your back up and running Josh, drop me a line and can set you up with a couple of leather corals or so? Howard
  7. Cool! When I first read, I thought you just got him?? Sounds like you spoiling him well for fresh food constantly ....now I got to quit spoiling myself with too much fresh food late nights!!!
  8. Gang, awesome news from the Tank! The last GB from BZA in DEC, I got a Female Green Mandaran and have not seen her after the first week, fearing the worst! TWO MONTHS LATER late last night, I'm re-arranging my LR for the Umpteenth time and after everything has settled and I finally ready to turn out the lights, but whose FAT Buttie appears but her!!! Was just too cool, that fish could hide that well in my 90g tank! AND I TRIED TO FIND HER SEVERAL TIMES!!!
  9. gmubeach, Dragonettes are some of our most gorgeous fish we can purchase, but they have extreme requirements of live food to keep them going. The standard requirement recommended is wait for at LEAST 6 months to a year before putting in a new system to allow the tank time to establish a growing pod stock and keep them well fed. I wish you well, but a nano if not a recommend home for these great fish! The Male top dorsal fin is like a spike and Female is more rounded.

  15. Updates: After my battle with Ich around May, I lost 18 of 20 fish, only 1 Firefish and 4+yr old Female Perc survived. (I believe started after my move and I failed to re-hookup my UV Sterilizer for 5 wks) Lost a few nice pieces of corals over the fall, mostly unfortunately from my own neglect and busy schedules!
