  1. Is it cyano, which is actually bacteria and not algae, or that reddish pink fluffy stuff? Tracy
  2. no pics showed up. :( Glad he is doing better though!! Tracy
  3. Geez oh whiz...he's a crafty little SOB!!! Watch your fingers in there!!! Tracy
  4. Reminds me of my design days. From the floorplans to the last pencil cups on the desks. While I loved creating things, I hated the minutia. T
  5. Still need somthing to move the water, Forrest. Gravity feeds water into the overflow. What would possibly feed it back into the tank if not a pump? Tracy
  6. Wow! Really beautiful!! And that's no bare-bottom tank.....it's a "frag bottom" tank! tracy
  7. Where are you guys? Do we have water yet? Tracy
  8. Wow....I LOVE this new forum!! Thanks for sharing. We are pulling for what looks to be a strong recovery. Tracy
  9. Thanks Justin! Looks like the consensus is that I re-attach the monti. Will do that tomorrow. And I'll see you tomorrow. Call my cell if it's too icy and you don't want to risk life and limb over a chunk of blue xenia! LOL Tracy
  10. The faucet in my kitchen is a funky one that pulls out of the base (so you can use it like a sprayer). It doesn't have anywhere that I could attach an adapter. Went ahead and ordered the unit. $130 seemed like a very reasonable price for a 5-stage. Will be calling one of you "just plug it in and turn on the spigot" guys if I can't figure it out! ROFL Tracy
  11. Juvies can be a lighter color. Once it adjusts to your tank and gets on the same feeding regimen as the other, they'll be similar colors in no time. How about a full tank shot? Looks nice and colorful! Tracy
  12. Love this tank...great job!! Tracy
  13. Beautiful! I hope my pink and gold zoanthids grow so well!! Tracy
  14. Thanks, Carla! I've really been enjoying it, and it is so wonderful watching it grow up in front of my eyes every day! Tracy
  15. Thanks, Sara! Although I wish I would have cleaned the glass before snapping those latest close-ups. LOL Tracy
  16. Beautiful tank!! *sigh*, just when I love mine, I see one that I must aspire to! LOL Tracy
  17. Can I just use a timer when I am making water outside? Float valve sounds like engineering to me! LOL Also, I have no sink in my laundry room, so wouldn't really have a spot for the run-off water. The outdoor spigot is going to be the production area.
  18. Well, for one thing, I am quickly running out of real estate. For another...I really can't wait for the day when my little corals are big corals. Won't ever happen if the darned turbo doesn't give them a break! LOL Here's the victim....you can see where I reattached it: I have another question for everyone, while I'm in here. "Indigo" is my new Royal Gramma. What a gorgeous fish...no small wonder they are so popular. I feel a little badly for him, though. Sunshine, the candy hogfish, heretofor called "The Enforcer", has been confining the little guy to the cave on the right side of the tank. No real bullying after the first few hours, but he actively patrols the entrance to the cave, keeing the Royal Gramma in there. Is this typical behavoir for the gramma (hovering in caves), or should be be out and about more actively swimming around? He seems content, but seriously has not even attempted leaving the cave after his first hour in the tank! Tracy

  21. Fixing the access issue will open up the possibilities, for sure. May be able to fix up what you've got without breaking down the tank. Although protecting the tank inhabitants during construction will be a challenge and a half!! Oh, and FWIW, Dave inherited this tank with the house, so the design shortcomings are not his doing. Tracy
  22. Does anyone use this one? http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/RO/DI-Filter...oduct_info.html Is this really easy to just hook to the outdoor spigot, or will I need an engineering degree to figure out how to use it? I always see all sorts of tubes coming out of RO units, and have no clue what all it entails. Need to put an order in today for stuff for the group buy, and trying to figure out whether or not to add this. Thanks for your help, everyone! Tracy
  23. Having seen Dave's set up (huge tank, very high placement in-wall, no top access panel from the front), I don't know how he'd ever be able to get to the front, down near the sand bed, with a scraper (without a mask and snorkel....even then, lots of rock and corals in the way). Forgoing installation of a very high front access panel, Dave, I think you already know the answer.................glass. Tracy
  24. bummer! Hang in there!! Tracy
