I think I dosed the 2 part between 10am and 11am this morning. It was only half though since I've broken it in to 2 doses, 1 morning and 1 night. I think that's why you see the 1 point jump between 10 and 11am.

The actinics come one at 11am and go off at 10 pm. The metal halides on the main tank go on at noon and go off at 6pm. The frag tank light goes on at noon and goes off at 6pm and the fuge light goes on at 12am and goes off at 12pm. Found it. I'll be recording at 5 minutes now.

I think what's the most confusing for me is that the Ph dropped to 6.58 this morning at 9 and 10 am but yesterday and the day before, it didn't drop below 7.93 all day. On the 31st it dropped to 6.97 from 9 to 10am. I'll try to watch the levels for the next few mornings and when it drops again, I'll do a manual test. Here's the past few days from the Aqua Notes Lite.

So far I've split up when I dose 2 part in to several doses and put the powerhead so that it really stirred up the surface. The Ph went down to 6.55 this morning about an hour before I dosed 2 part. I don't really have space to have a DIY kalk dripper since the tank is in my living room. I'm not really sure what else to do.

Would it help to have my frag tank light timed with the fuge light? That way I'd have my frag tank light and my fuge light on at night and my main tank on during the day. Should I try that?
-
We rent out a basement appt and that is where our tank is. It's a finished basement. At night we do not reduce any circulation and we do not turn off the skimmer. The only change is the lighting. The main lights go off and the fuge light goes on. There is macro algae in the fuge and a little algae on the glass of the main tank. The frag tank (connected in to the same system) has some hair algae. The sand is about 3". We do have a Carbon Monoxide tester in the basement. It isn't directly above the tank but it's about 10 or 15 feet away. I add the 2 part right near the Ph probe in my sump so it does jump quite a bit when I add it. I relocated one of my Koralia 4's to point at the surface and looks much like boiling water now. I haven't had a chance to make and test fresh water yet today.

I did the 2 part in the afternoon yesterday instead of the morning and the Ph didn't drop as low (7.1)overnight as it had been doing. I did do a manual test and the AC3 is accurate even at night. I am going to try to take the suggestion to split up the 2 part doses in to several smaller doses until I'm able to get a Kalk Stirrer.
-
I'll start to at least split the doses in half for now.

I already have mine on that same reverse lighting cycle on my fuge and I'm still having this problem. I have to add so much 2 part now to keep my Alk and Ca numbers at 10 and 400. Does anyone think that has anything to do with it? When I add my Alk in, it's so much that it spikes the Ph. Does it swing back to really low? I add about 300ml of each part to keep the levels right. It's about 15 pumps of each on my gallon jugs. Maybe that'll help.

I'll post the results tomorrow. Thanks so far for taking the time to help me with this.

I'll dose now and than test at 7am tomorrow which is when the Ph level was at it's lowest. I can't think of anthing else that's on at night. Just my skimmer, heater, pumps, and fuge light. The Ph probe is in the sump as well as my heater. They're on opposite sides (2 feet) of the sump though. Would that affect it?
-
No I haven't verified the night levels with a manual test. I will try to verify tonight though. Should I dose my 2 part now then so my levels will drop tonight like usual so I can test?
-
I did 3 manual Ph test with the lights adjusted like you said and wrote down the readings first. The readings were all the same which was all right between 8.0 and 8.1. I then got the readings off the AC3 with the lights in the different settings and all three times I got the same reading of 8.06. I even restarted the controller in between each reading to be sure. I usually dose 2 part in the morning when I get up but these readings today are without 2 part since I decided to wait until tonight before I go to bed to dose to see if that helps. I thought that may be important in diagnosing the readings.

I do have a refugium on a reverse lighting cycle.
-
I know my probe is calibrated. During the day it's 8.1 - 8.2 and even though I used calibration fluid I still did a manual test just to make sure. My Alk is at 10 If I add the Alk at night will it likely help keep my levels higher through the morning?
-
Now that I have my AC3 hooked up I am able to see that my PH is fluctuating alot more than I realized during the night despite having my fuge light on throughout the night. At points in the night and early morning, my PH was as low as 6.9 and stayed in the low 7's most of the night. What can I do to prevent this? I don't have a kalk stirrer or calcium reactor yet. Should I be dosing my two part at another time other than late morning/early afternoon? Thanks

Sample programming for Aqua Controllers?

Now that I have the email notifications working I do have another question. Right now the email sent to me state the time, date, PH, temp, and the first 4 out of 8 DC8 timer's status. Does that make sense? It says HD1 Off Auto, HD2 Off Auto... How do I get it to say all 8 socket's status? I found out that it does have all the information when it's emailed but only has partial when it's text messaged so this message can be disregarded. -

I was over at Brian Wards house picking up some filter socks and he suggested that I switch the SMTP to Comcast.Net and that worked right away. I'm all set now thanks to everyone's help. Thanks again -

Yes. I put my gmail user name and password in there before I even started looking for help. I followed the commands but never got a chance to type mail. When I typed 1 maild it started to go and after about 150 lines it stopped. Here are the last few lines. I tried again and it was after I typed cons <enter> that it took off. -

I'm not getting any luck with that either. I'm thinking I may need to call someone on the phone (either someone on here or Neptune) and have them walk me through this issue on the phone. Anyone volunteers or should I call Neptune. Thanks. [quote name='YBeNormal' date='Dec 30 2007, 01:12 AM' post='163248 You forgot to add the "25" at the end of the command so telnet defaulted to port 23. What you are trying to test though is port 25 (smtp). The correct sytax is "telnet smtp.gmail.com 25" You might be able to avoid all of that testing though. Fill in the "auth user" and "auth password" fields under Email in the AC III using the same information you use when checking your Comcast email. Then have the AC III send a test email. -

I upgraded to Vista earlier today. I enabled Telnet like you said and tried the command again and this is the results I got. -

None of those worked for me. My ISP is Comcast. Is that telnet.smtp.gmail.com or telnet smtp.gmail.com? These were my results. -
