  1. Thanks for this info. After looking at pics online, it definitely seems to be standard filamentous algae in the second pic. It is indeed hard to tell in the pics but I can tell by comparing pics online. I’ll start by increasing my cleanup crew, adjusting my lighting cycle slightly, and replacing my carbon.
  2. Thanks! I’ll check out the link. I only have a tang in 1 of the 3 tanks. The tank that has it the worst only has a gold nugget clown pair and a small wrasse.
  3. Hi! I have several tanks connected making up about 250 gallons total. They’ve been set up for about a year and a half. The corals and livestock have done very well but I’m constantly battling several types of algae (pictured). I have coral+ T5 bulbs which are frequently replaced and viparspectra LED lights set to about 30%. I assume it’s either not enough clean up crew, lighting, or too much/little of a nutrient that’s causing it but would appreciate some advice. Green/brown hair (cotton looking) algae and a green lettuce looking algae. Hopefully the pics load ok. Thanks!
  4. Quick update. My wife reset each of them over and over and eventually the boot loop stopped and they work fine now.
  5. Hi! I had two of the newer icecap 4K pumps hooked up to a Wi-Fi controller and running for about a week. Today I added another pump and a Wi-Fi controller. I set all three to 100% since the tank is cycling and I wanted to clear off the bare bottom of the tank. After a few seconds I noticed the pumps were no longer running. I can no longer connect to any of them from the app and the leds on the controller cycle through red blue green white like they usually do and then I get a quick green status light, yellow mode light and then it starts it’s boot loop over. They’re connected to a dedicated 20a gfci breaker that currently only has two viparspectra 165w, a curve 9+ dc skimmer, and a cor20 return pump, and a 500w titanium heater. I can’t seem to find any info online about it and no phone number for coralvue. I’ll try to email them but wanted to see if anyone knows. Just to reiterate, two pumps and a controller are a week old and one pump and controller arrived today.
  6. Hi! I have a Neptune Apex (2016) and haven’t had any issues. I tried adding a PM2 and to track Temp and salinity on a second system and haven’t been able to get it connected properly. I’ve not been able to find anything about the issue I’m having. The pm2 (and connected probes) show up in fusion but say disconnected. The status light is either flashing or solid amber. I’ve tried connecting to different aquabus ports on the PM2 and to different modules. After deleting and trying to add again, it now says software version 255 (old) for the PM2. Any suggestions?
  7. Hi! I’m working on getting my controller equipment cleaned up. I don’t have room in my stand so it’ll need to be a cabinet next to the stand. I’ll need to put quite a bit in it. I have the 2016 Neptune, trident, 3 x MP controllers, 2 x cor controllers, 1 link, APK, LDK, PM2, WMX, 2 x EB 832 power strips, 3 x dos, 2 x ddr, and an iPad. I’m not great with building furniture so I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions that can be repurposed? I’d like it to be a lower cabinet that’s shallow but wide. Thanks in advance!
  8. Thank you! I’ll give that a try.
  9. I recently purchased a used COR 20 and when it arrived I realized it’s missing the power cable. The seller gave me a partial credit to cover but I’m having a hard time finding one. Out of stock at Neptune. It’s 24v 100w. Does anyone know if there’s a generic option that might work and how I’d figure out the barrel size and make sure it’ll work?
  10. Thanks for your input. I’ll likely add a separate sump in the basement next to the reef sump in that case. To make water changes easier, thoughts on pumping water from my reef sump during it’s water changes in to the fowlr sump next to it for the fowlr changes? I imagine the reef water coming out would be fine for the fowlr. If that makes sense.
  11. Guess not. Figured it was worth a shot to check.
  12. I was thinking about having the overflow of the 75 split in to the 30 and 50 as their supply, then they’d overflow to the sump and return would just go back the the 75 upstairs.
  13. I currently have a 50 reef and a 30 frag tank plumbed together with a trigger ruby sump (30~ gallons I think) in my basement. I want to add a 75 gallon fowlr in the family room directly above the other tanks. The only way my wife would agree is if the fowlr is plumbed to the basement for water changes, ato, testing, etc. The only thing that’ll be done up there is feeding the fish (in theory). I was thinking that the additional 75 gallons and 80~ pounds of live rock would out weigh the negative load that the fish in the fowlr would add. Is this correct or do I need a separate sump in the basement for the fowlr? It’ll have a bubble magus 7 in the sump. I also have a bubble magus 5 if I need to run the fowlr separately. I would just need to buy a sump.
  14. I found that it’s Roozens that I was referring to and that they’ve been out of the fish business since 2016.
  15. I vaguely remember getting fish at an outdoor/greenhouse type of place in Clinton or Fort Washington area but can’t remember what it was called to see if it’s still around. Anyone know?
  16. Thanks for the replies! I ended up getting the sca 50g and it’s perfect!
  17. I found a sca 50g Starfire pnp that I’m going to look at tomorrow. 48L is too long I’ve decided so I’m thinking I’ll either get the 50g or a 65g.
  18. I used to have a 180 and then stepped away for a WHILE but wanting to get back in. I need something smaller than 180 for my current space. I decided I’d determine the perfect size setup and then see what I could find but I’m split between a few. 36” is about as long as I’d want to go. I really like the way 30” high looks but also ok with 24” high. It can’t go past 2” deep. I’m thinking a 65 or 80 xhigh would be ideal but wanted to see if the depth would be an issue for reef lighting or anything else about either that I might not be thinking about. I could possibly push to 48” length which opens a lot more options if the ones I mentioned aren’t good options. Thanks in advance!
  19. The OM4 and Dart are gone. I still have the rock and Deltec.
  20. Just so everyone knows the deal I've offered those who have pm'd me, I'll sell the Dart, Deltec, and throw in a Eheim 1260 for $400 today. edit: all tested and work great. Those who have pm'd me already will get first dibs based on the order they pm'd.
  21. I have several tubs full of dry rock. It's really nice rock and is several types. I'm not 100% sure. Some are very large pieces. Not base rock. If I had to guess, I'd say 120 pounds wet. Maybe more actually. One is a really nice 30 pound rock. It's probably more than 120 wet. Again, I'm not 100% sure on the weight or type of rock as I've been out for a while. I'd sell all of it for $200.
