  1. Not planning on trying to raise them right now but I may be trying in the near future.
  2. I was just about to leave the house the other day and I noticed my Clown pair acting a little strange. I then noticed that the female was laying eggs. I had just enough time to snap a few pics. I had to crank up the ISO to get the pics due to the eggs being on a rock ledge under the Frogspawn they host in so they aren't the greatest.
  3. WELCOME..... Very nice little tank you have there.
  4. Daniel, I think it is a great lens, especially for the money. Every review I found on it before buying it was positive. If you look at the picture I took of the Capitol, I was several blocks away from it and it is one of the sharpest images I have ever taken. (Look at it full size and zoom in)
  5. Thanks guys. Jon, Right now I'm using a Nikon D80. Planning on making the jump to a D700 soon. I used a few different lens for these pics. A Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR, a Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED AF-S DX VR and my best lens, a Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG/HSM lens.
  6. Well I braved the spring break crowds in DC and spent the day there yesterday taking pictures. Here are a few from around the monuments. I'll be posting more on my web site later this evening. (see my sig for web site) Let me know what you think......
  7. Great pics Daniel. I had planned on going down there today but I wasn't happy with the weather. Maybe Friday..... You think the blossoms are going to hold up till then?
  8. Here is a link to some really good info on Red bugs, their treatment and the medicine. LINK
  9. I did the one time test just to see how it matched up with my test kits. All of mine were pretty close to what they had. I think it's worth it for verifying your test results but like anything, don't put to much into what they come back with.
  10. Dan, The pictures look great. I have the Sigma 105mm macro. Does the 2x teleconverter just screw on the end of the lens? Looks like it did a pretty good job.
  11. I believe the Octopus and MSX are the same skimmer. For whatever reason, I could not get the skimmer to work correctly. After several months of trying to fix it over the phone with customer support, they finally had me send the pump back to them. The problem was that it kept overflowing the skimmer cup. It would work great for 2-3 days and start collecting a lot of waste in the cup and then out of nowhere it would overflow sending all the waste back into my system. Apparently the needle wheel inside the pump was out of round and causing the problem, but even after getting the fixed pump back I could never get it to work well.
  12. I have about the same water volume as you are going to have, 150 total gallons. I had the Octo Extreme 200 and had terrible luck with it. I sold it and got an ATI Bubblemaster 200 and it is great. I would highly recommend it.
  13. I have been messing around with my camera and thought I'd take a few pics to post. All of them are from my main tank.
  14. I have the same UV and it is a pain. I had luck just grabbing the edge of the rubber top and twisting it while squeezing it. Be very careful you don't break the top edge of the glass, it breaks easy. (I speak from experience)
  15. I was running 250W XM 10K until a few months ago. I switched to the Radiums and the color is fantastic but a VERY different look than the XM's. I have ARO electronic ballasts and they run the Radiums just fine.
  16. I have a good 6"+ in my tank and I have never had any issues with nitrates. My tank has been running about 2 1/2 years now so I can't speak for long term issues.
  17. I have the Octo Extreme 200 and I must say that I am one of the few people to ever have problems with this skimmer. I have had it for 6 months and it has never worked. I am currently working with the company to repair the pump that came with it. For some reason I was told to fix it myself and when that didn't work they finally agreed to take a look at it. It was mailed back to me on Thursday and I have not gotten it yet so I don't know if they fixed it or not at this point. It has been very frustrating and I still can't believe they won't just give me a new pump. I can not personally recommend this skimmer but I know that most people that have it love it.
  18. Here's mine. Submitters: Name, SteveM Location: My 110g reef tank Camera Used: Nikon D80 with a 105mm macro lens. Subject: Dr. Mac's Limeade taken under actinics.
  19. Very nice looking tank. Keep up the good work. Colors are great.
  20. Chris, thats a bummer. I feel your pain. I have a pair of B&W clowns in my frg tank and one them decided to jump 2 nights ago. Found him DOA behind the tank the next day.... sucks
  21. pH I keep mine between 6.47 - 6.53 effluent rate flo A steady stream (Or you could say a very fast drip) bubble count per minute Have no idea - I don't have a bubble counter. My guess would be about 1 per sec auto controlled via controller I run it with my ACIII, thats why I dont worry about the bubble count. Ph goes down the ACIII kicks the CO2 on, Ph goes up, it kicks the CO2 off I have it dialed in pretty good. I have a very consistent Alk and Cal reading every month.
