Giant Gastropod egg capsules of Adelomelon brasiliana on the beach of a lagoon, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Adelomelon brasiliana is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Volutidae.

Very cool Jan, It looks like more than one snail per case. Must be thousands of them.

That's pretty wild. Each sac looks to have several snails in it already. I bet there are some fat seagulls on that beach.

probably hand sized or smaller. I'll bet it builds a mucous bubble and deposits eggs inside which can then travel long distances.
