I don't know jack about UV's but at that price I'm interested in one myself.

It has an easy to find bulb which was one of my first thoughts.

For what it's offered for and shipped for it's worth a shot.

I would not waste any money on a no name brand. All bulbs are not created equal either. there is a very specific wavelength required to do what you want it to do, cheaply made bulbs loose that wavelength very quickly.

Anytime someone puts testimonials in their eBay description makes me think that they're just trying way too hard. Something's fishy about this product. (pun intended)

 

I would suggest a good brand like Aqua...

Perhaps, perhaps. But for something like $50 to test if UV will help with my brown-stuff-in-the-water problem in the mixing tank... it's not a bad deal I think. For my 180, I'd definitely get something more solid.

Sorry, I was a bit punchy last night. Left work at 10p and back at it at 8:30a today. I was quoting some of the statements alleged in the eBay ad and then attacking it in a stream of thought narrative I guess. Avatar . . . called small desert or something like that? I dunno. Maybe I should change it. Maybe with all this freetime I have I will update it. Sorry for slinging the biotech lingo. Its not meant to be a show-off, I just didn't have the time to translate into English . . .
