michaelg July 5, 2004 July 5, 2004 Steve and all, didn't see the thread started yet, so thought I would get this going. My wife has been begging me to clean out the freezer of extra ingredients. Here's a list of what I have to contribute, all frozen. 2-3 squid dozen oysters mysid shrimp from Jemco (I have a whole block so if someone wants a quarter just for food, will be happy to sell it). Krill from Jemco Anything else I find way back in there. Dry goods- cyclopeeze flake golden pearls spirulina powder natural astaxanthin powder 1 jar zooplankton, saltwater. nori sheets Still needed- raw shrimp whole fish mussels more of some of the above? We need a head count to know how much other ingredients we will be needing. I have a dedicated blender top that fits standard blenders I can bring along as well. Will bring some dry ice for freezing and transport back home.

Guest clownfish4 July 5, 2004 July 5, 2004 "I can bring frozen brine shrimp, baggies, shrimp, and/or the easy things I can get at Giant." I also have spirulina flake, formula 2 flake, and frozen formula 1.
Guest clownfish4 July 5, 2004 July 5, 2004 What kind of proportions do we need to bring? I kind of figure that recipe won't satisfy all the people interested.
Sph2sail July 6, 2004 July 6, 2004 This recipe made about 16 baggies of food last time. If we need to double it, we surely can... !!! If people bring a lot of the various hard to get dry goods, we can do a run to the Korean fish market before the grinding party. We certainly should be able to have quite a copious amound of fuuudddd... s
ireland July 8, 2004 July 8, 2004 I can bring a spare blender, if needed. I will see what items from the list that I can get.
OUsnakebyte July 8, 2004 July 8, 2004 I can bring some mussels. How many should I get? Anything else I should bring...? Cheers Mike
Sph2sail July 8, 2004 July 8, 2004 I can bring some mussels. How many should I get? Anything else I should bring...? Cheers Mike a dozen will do.

cowrie July 8, 2004 July 8, 2004 Steve, was that enough rock fish? Should I bring more? We have a REAL industrial type blender at the Zoo that we may be able to use (if dear sweet ousnakebyte wants to run down to invertebrates to get it?!?!). Call me if you can, Mike.
Sph2sail July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 Not enough rock fish, but a better solution is to get a whole mackeral to add to it. That's why I added that to the list. Thanks clownfish4 and ireland. Mahvelous! s
scott711 July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 I can bring some selcon and maybe some goodies from the asian supermarket
Sph2sail July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 I can bring some selcon and maybe some goodies from the asian supermarket If you are making the trip to the asian food market, please do get the following: 1 whole (large) mackeral 1 large bag shredded nori (dried, no additives, not baked) If you come early, I'll go with you to Loto in Fairfax Circle and we can enjoy the opportunity to look at all the stuff that is available... steve
michaelg July 9, 2004 Author July 9, 2004 I can cover- 3-4 squirts of Vita-chem 2-3 squirts of selcon "sushi eggs" aka fish roe half teaspoon of shredded garlic one large krill frozen pack I have plenty of nori in the cupboard already (I make my own rolls as well as use it for tank food).
scott711 July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 Steve, I don't know if I will be able to get there early. I am having some carpet installed and not sure what time they will be coming. I will make a trip tonight to the market. Do we have enought blenders? I might be able to convince the wife to borrow one of hers.
Guest Kimo July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 Everyone - I think I will have to bail on this. Family stuff just came up. Sorry. J
Sph2sail July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 Jamie, can someone pickup the golden pearls from you somehow? Anyone near ya? We need em... will give ya some food... s
mogurnda July 9, 2004 July 9, 2004 I am back in business, so should I pick up a big pack of frozen brine on my way?
michaelg July 9, 2004 Author July 9, 2004 Steve- I have truckloads of golden pearls. I also have dried cyclopeeze flake that we can put into the cocktail. Might get ambitious and strain off a bunch of rotifers as well. I need to cut it back as the eggs hatched before I thought they would (didn't know exact date they were laid). Will have to wait a bit to give the fry a run as i am taking a trip in august most likely- and no one to feed them a couple times a day I don't want the cultures to crash so best to cut them back. I will also bring a 2 liter bottle of greenwater that we can use as the liquid base.
