Filter Rollers

It looks like while I was on a 6 year break from the hobby a neat piece of equipment was created.. the filter roller. I am interested in installing one of these and wanted to know everyones opinion on them. 

likes... dislikes etc..

 

changing out filter socks isn’t fun!

I have the theiling rollermat. I've had it for years. I love it. Ill never use socks again

A couple years ago, I actually stopped using filter socks all together (partially because I hated cleaning them).  About 6 months ago I finally cleaned my sump and installed a Klir drop-in fleece roller.  Despite a couple gripes with this system, I definitely love it and do not see myself ever using socks again.  If you are building a system, I’d suggest planning for one before actually setting up the tank.

I run a beananimal return into my sump.  How do you arrange the siphon drain and overflow plumbing so that the beananimal process restarts properly if you restart the return pump?

I think i saw a rollermatte on BRS clearance section might be a good grab
