Ok,

This is a combined Tank Tour that is open to anyone!

AND

A chance to talk to any NEWBIE on getting started and off and running.

Basics 101!

I'm currently setting up my new tank so this will NOT be a chance to come see a pretty tank with beautiful corals and lots of fish! You will see alot of RAW equipment setup and going through the motions of getting and setting up a tank of your own! Open to all, but would appreciate a PM on who wants to come and will try to limit it to 15-20 people due to limited space at my place. Will provide drinks and snacks and maybe some vension disk served for those who are interested. Cost will be $1000.00 in small unmarked bills!

...ok just kidding, cost will be FREE!!!!

Not WAMAS sponsored, just for fun! ;D

My tank:

90g Acrylic Tank 3'x2'x2' custom made by Jeff "NAGA" Haddock

Lighting with (2) Dual Sunlight T5 Retro Fit Kit and custom stand/canopy

MAG18 in temporary sump (soon to be custom hopefully by then) running to

#1 Main Tank with 1" SeaSwirl

#2 15w UV Sterilizer

(2) 1 1/2" Bulkhead overflows

Hope to have my KolpC Calcium Reactor and DIY Kalk Reactor hooked up by then also!

Inside the tank:

100# of Tonga LR I believe, Chip any idea what this is? Cool stuff and landscaping ALMOST as good as Jacobs! :)

4# of Blue Ridge Coral LR

2" LS bed

1 pair of Percula Clownfish

2 Sarcophytons

1 Green MR

i'd love to come by... i don't fall into the "beginner" or "expert" categories, i'm definitely in the middle, but i'd love to lend a hand with the new tank if you need it howard! :0)

i got a NAGA tank too, but unfortunately, that has stalled. I'm trying to find someone to do me a custom stand, that's a little different, that won't charge, like 500 bucks.

Attendies updated!

So far my tank is going through a small cycling, so hopefully will be ready by next weekend!

Howard,

Are you sure you want to squeeze 6 tangs into a 90g? (among all the other fish?) Or do you have a typo in your sig and you really got a 900 gal tank... That's a total of 20 fish!!!

I am not a newbie, but I would like to come out to see how you have everything set up. I am looking for some new plumbing ideas and getting a first hand look would be nice. When is the group buy going to happen?

Someone ask and instead of repeating myself, Comments on my Cleaner List for 50-100g system:

2 Cleaner Shrimp Beautiful and do what they say!

1 Fire Shrimp IMHO, Looks only, never seen these guys do alot of cleanup!

30 Nassarius Vibex - Must for your sandbed!

20 Cerith BEST overall do their size, won't knock over stuff like Turbos or Margaritas!

5 Margaritas - Great cleaners while their small, Get big, time to sell off! :)

18 Red Tipped Hermits (scavengers, more algae eaters then meat) - won't bother the Nassarius Snails like Blue or Red Leg Hermits will!

1 Blue Neon Striped Hermit Crabs (The BEST for Red Cyanobacteria removal)

1 Serpent Starfish (scavenger) If it's dead, they will find it!

2-3 Emerald Crabs (bubble and green algae)

1 Sallie (scavenger)

There are others, but these should do everything you need!

howard! still 4 tangs in a 90! yeesh. i mean, that's a weird shaped 90, too, will that be enough swim room? i haven't read up if fish like a cube more. i would think they would... but still! you're insane man! :-D

i'm looking forward to it. :)

ps. why am i a 'talker'?! ... i don't have anything to talk about! "and our next speaker will be Charlie, who will attempt to explain how to have a successful reef tank using nothing more than the WAMAS boards, and Blind Luck that everything works the way it should."

AAAAEGKH! *cough* no pressure.
