Chaeto needed.

Hi all, if anyone has bunch of extra chaeto, I would love to get them. Currently having high phosphate issue (.50) and phosguard is killing my coral when I ran it.

Chaeto is not going to remove that much phosphate that quickly.  Perhaps try another brand of phosphate remover?  Some seem to be harsher than others and .5 is pretty high.

I got phosphate rx on hand. Chaeto would help if anyone got some more. Going to a friends house tomorrow.

Water changes can be a great method. I personally wouldn't worry too much at 0.5. I had mine up to 2.4 at times without any type of fish death. Actually sitting at 1.7 right now .

I agree with Dave, chaeto isn’t going to bring down the phosphate quickly.  However IMO you don’t need to bring it down quickly, providing it is not causing any issues. Running an adequately sized fudge can be a fundamental part of any filtration system and can be a long term solution.  What are you running for filtration and how long has your system been running?

Little update. I ran 25% phosphate RX and it lowered it to .35. Will slowly dose it again weekly till around .10. 
 

just ordered some BRS HC GFO. My plan is to run 50% GFO and 100% Carbon in a reactor. Change them out 4-6 weeks.
