YHSublime January 19, 2020 January 19, 2020 I am using a 150 Rubbermaid to cycle some rock. I’m also refinishing my basement, and thought about building a platform out of wood and putting out on rollers. That way I can rotate it around and finish sections. Has anybody done this? Will the weight hold?
ImGoingCoastal January 19, 2020 January 19, 2020 Im finding a lot of things ironic lately....Like the fact that, just a few days ago, I bought a furniture dolly to put my 20 gallon on so I could roll it into the other room while I get carpet put down in my basement.According to Amazon, my $14 dolly (18"x30") is rated for 1k lbs. If you put 4+ of them together and placed plywood on top to distribute the weight evenly, I would imagine it would hold. Just my $.02....Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
sethsolomon January 19, 2020 January 19, 2020 The average load a caster wheel is rated for is 250 pounds. So you would want 8 to evenly distribute the weight and it would be fine.
Jon Lazar January 19, 2020 January 19, 2020 I did this with my empty 800# tank in our dining room. The hardest part was rolling it up from the bare subfloor (lower) onto the new hardwood floor (higher). In your case, you can always temporarily pump water out of the rubbermaid and into a different container, to make moving the rubbermaid easier.

Delphinus88 January 19, 2020 January 19, 2020 This sump is 90 gal and I only move it a few inches but it has held up fine for 5 years.
ImGoingCoastal January 19, 2020 January 19, 2020 Looking on Amazon they have an 8 pack of inexpensive casters. You could buy they and a sheet of 1/2" plywood, mount the casters on it and I would think you'd be good to go. When you're done you can use the wood for a stand or something and make some furniture Dolly's with the casters hahaSent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
