Introducing my tank to WAMAS. I have a build thread on reef to reef but wanted to share my tank with my fellow local reef nuts! More details to come.

Full tank shot Friday with my newest coral, a gorgeous blue and green chalice.

My tank is home to two ocellaris clowns, Minerva and Albus (I renamed them from Molly and Arthur Clownfishly because they have shown no disposition to make any orange babies). There's also a blenny, a dottyback, a damsel and formerly blennymower, a fat adorable lawnmower blenny who sadly, jumped recently. 393f51630d752976d4a05df27d83aeee.jpgdac3d4615f75763a16e5cc468d5bb31a.jpg

A small fire and a new tank set up later, I have my new haddoni carpets...

The fire you ask? We had a *minor* light drop in the tank incident just as we had filled it with nice stable water from the main tank. There were flames. Whoops. At least it happened before anyone was in there. So then we started over and eventually they got transferred in. I won't lie, that was a little scary.

I've never been able to resist a good sale....0ae12f14290007f38cab3fe84b724f9d.jpgef441e8b985dcbfe885ae6cbd5ed09b7.jpg1f0db7ae4074a442af22c9009f0909f4.jpgce1b0117a0cf2ff9bdbb8e1cc3f07b77.jpg

Yeah I was really excited. Probably should not have gotten them because it's another tank to maintain but they're so interesting...

:eek::eek:

I did a thing....

Thinking of a smallish clown harem for the carpets. They're all from the same hatching. Terrible idea??

They already know I mean food.

Here's an updated picture of each tank.

Let's just say I don't have a clown harem anymore. A bunch of them were sick right after I got them. Very bummerific.

Also the murderous crab and apparently, the urchin, have killed every last big turbo snail in the tank. Fun times. 996668bf1d560b82b5d5f45c90bb8dd2.jpg31b332edaff1505327d3010227a56b5e.jpg8aee613225bf249ce70dc92b024e00de.jpg9ad32834ef2d8ee3cf966bcc745ce07b.jpg

Well... I finally got the 75g from Petco. I've been meaning to expand for the carpets for quite some time, but they were doing well in the meantime. The clowns are still too domesticated to realize they live in anemones and decided instead to live in a hole in the sand near the pistol shrimp, and occasionally under a rock ledge. Let's hope they figure it out one day.

Here's some pictures of what the little tank looked like plus in progress of the stand for the 75, and CMAS frag fest, where I was lucky enough to get the highest bid on the lobo pictured. There's also a picture of my 40g main tank crowded with coral post sale.

Finally the 75 gallon set up, which combined my 20g, and 10g holding tank for a starry blenny and Talbot's damsel. I'm really proud of my husband's work on the stand and my idea for it, which was to use IKEA panels to face the stand to give it a modern look. We got them all from the markdown section for quite a deal. The doors are attached with piano hinges.

The lights are on a temporary mounting, which eventually might be a hood... We use par38 bulbs and have had great luck with coral growth on the 40g. a4da199135c9092ae772ad972ede353a.jpg79c7ff3f0fb717bb7d4010a38d7fb9f6.jpge932faba49192b5abfb028ed891606f5.jpg04c426b34704fad12049184172457f94.jpg3c0130701b22ebb3c580c68c00043067.jpg0daad1832f6d34536560cca625b51e83.jpgafe1a1e91458bf726deb4969006be8e1.jpgfbb4674cfebb57657931eab21bb90573.jpg6879995c681a3233559f19f28770c750.jpg

The stand looks nice! Awesome how the panels fit pretty much perfectly! Is it on castors?
