MaeganWink May 10, 2019 Share May 10, 2019 Found these cute snails with little anemones attached to their shells! I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of anemones they are? They don't look like Aptasia to me. I just want to make sure they won't infest the tank before I let them loose. Right now they're in a critter carrier in my tank, so separate but still getting the same water through tiny slots. Any ideas?
bues0022 May 10, 2019 Share May 10, 2019 It's tough to tell from the pictures, but maybe ball anemone? I think they're also referred to as ball-tipped anemone. They stay about the size of a dime/penny, live in no-light areas, and are fun little filter feeders. I used to have a bunch of them in my last tank. ReefdUp May 11, 2019 Share May 11, 2019 Hard to tell, but they do look like aiptasia or other pest anemone. I wouldn't put them in my tank. Good catch!Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk

gmerek2 May 14, 2019 Share May 14, 2019 If they have a snorkel on the front they are probably whelk. Predatory snails :(
