I use 2, both by AVAST. The bucket one is a little cheaper than the acrylic ones. It would take a long time for me to fill up a 5-gallon bucket though, so I found a smaller bucket (I think it's like 2.5 or 3 gallons) that it fits on and is semi-transluscent. I find the bucket one easier to empty as well compared to the acrylic ones. There are DIY versions out there as well.

We used to use them but found that they can cause backpressure issues with the foam head on the CS1 skimmers.

Now they are dialed in to be emptied every 2 weeks.

i use the avast on the last ten or so builds i've done. not a single failure or issue even on ones 5+ years old. saved me too many times to count. not as pretty as some of the other options but definitely gets it done and nice to support dan and justin, local guys, as a bonus.

I used to but now my skimmer has a float valve in the cup itself so no need for a locker anymore.  My motivation for using a locker before was to avoid all the skimmate being dumped into the tank not really a maintenance thing.
