lepete2000 July 3, 2006 July 3, 2006 Where do you all get your Schedule 40 PVC? That's the thin wall PVC right? HD and Lowes only carry Schedule 80 PVC. TIA, -Peter
JC Pollman July 3, 2006 July 3, 2006 I think you might be mistaken: HD and Lowes carry sch 40 only. As for thin wall, you might be thinking of cpvc pipe - the tan colored ones.
Gadgets July 3, 2006 July 3, 2006 If you are looking for scd 40 (white pvc) you can get it at home depot. If you are looking for scd 80 (grey pvc) you can get it at www.savko.com

TIA, -Peter JC is correct, there is also a very thin wall pvc that is still considered schedule 40 but is used for irrigation systems. Home depot or lowes carries both, just be sure that you are using deep socket fittings for any pressurized system plumbing, the shallow fittings are designed for drainage. John
NAGA July 3, 2006 July 3, 2006 HD and Lowes carry schedule 40 as others have mentioned. There is also a schedule 20 that is very thin wall pvc. When you get to the sch. 80 you pretty much have to go to specialty plumbing supply places for that. Not that it is used for what we use it for but, there is also sch. 120 that is really heavy duty. If you like the sch 40 and want to use gray color Phil at Exotic Aquatics carries a full line of gray pvc pipe fittings and pipe. 410-668-1200
lepete2000 July 5, 2006 Author July 5, 2006 Wow... Thanks for correcting me. Do you all use Sched 40 for plumbing? I figure I want something thinner to maximize flow. Thanks...
Gadgets July 5, 2006 July 5, 2006 I used Flex PVC and Sch 80 fittings. The grey stuff just looks cool to me!! Costs more though.
NAGA July 5, 2006 July 5, 2006 the sch. 40 is pretty much the norm. the sch.20 really isn't suited for what we would use it for in most applications. The sch. 40 gray really isn't much more expensive. It may be 20% more than the white.
